She began her artistic career in her native Argentina, in the revue theater and as a vocalist of the Cano Brothers Orchestra.

Jorge Negrete in his visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, after witnessing a performance of Rosita, invited her to Mexico, where she made her debut at the Centro Nocturno "El Patio" in 1947. On April 8, 1949, she became a Mexican citizen; her film debut was in 1948 in the film "La Santa del Barrio" by Chano Urueta. Which brings us to our first anecdote.

1- After seeing herself in her debut in La Santa del Barrio (1948) Rosita Quintana did not think about not making films again. After seeing the rushes, she thought she looked terrible and when she heard herself singing the tango "Uno", not only did she not want to sing it, but she did not want to see or hear herself, she thought she had looked horrible. However, she continued to participate in films such as "ay palillo no te rajes", it was not until 1949 that the public began to identify her for her acting work thanks to her participation in "Calabacitas tiernas", "Soy charro de Levita" and "No me defiendas compadre", in which her capacity for comedy stood out.

4.Rosita Quintana and Pedro Armendáriz filmed together movies such as "El Charro y la Dama", "El zarco", and "El Hambre nuestra de cada día"; Among the most outstanding anecdotes from these films were when they filmed "El Charro y la Dama", Pedro Armendariz loved to give realism to the scenes and in one of them, he spanked her so hard that Rosita was unable to sit for a few days, for the filming of "El Zarco" he gave her such a real slap that his hand was marked on Rosita's face. Another anecdote told by Rosita herself in an interview in 2001, tells that during the filming of El charro y la Dama, Fernando Soto “Mantequilla” and Pedro Armendáriz began to shoot rockets in the middle of the filming and she told them to please not do it because she was a little scared. But the singular Pedro turned around and told her: "Look girl, if you want to work in the movies and you are afraid, why don't you stay at home? Rosita says that at that moment she started to cry, but a few days before the end of the filming Pedro Armendariz approached her with a present for her and apologized for what had happened. Rosita described him as an excellent partner whom she remembered fondly and a very professional actor.
