Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗

Have you ever misjudged or admired someone, and then when you eventually got to know them, you found that they were not who or what you actually thought they were?

Wish Upon a Star is one of those movies. I can't remember what year I watched this movie first, but I remember I was still in primary school, and if I am not mistaken, maybe this was the first body switch movie I watched.

So let's get into the summary of the movie.

Summary
*Wish Upon a Star *was released in 1996. The movie is all about two siblings. Alexia (Katherine Heigl) is the senior and Hayley (Danielle Harris) the younger sister, both in high school.

Alexia is the social and popular type; she's stylish and doesn't take her education seriously, while her younger sister Hayley is the direct opposite of her; she's good academically, mostly in mathematics and chemistry, and she's socially reserved. Hayley admires her sister from afar and also wishes she could be like her and also have a crush on her sister's boyfriend Kyle.

One night, Alexia was together with her boyfriend Kyle in the swimming pool, hanging out, while Hayley was on the balcony staring at the sky when she saw a shooting star. She made a silent wish that she would be her sister.

The next morning, the sisters woke up and found themselves in each other's bodies. While Alexia was getting agitated and wondering what happened, Hayley told her she was the one that made the wish. Alexia told her to make the wish back to reverse the whole situation but realized there was nothing to be done, they are stuck.

Hayley is unbothered by the situation because she's going to experience what it feels like to be Alexia.

While Alexia, on the other hand, can't believe she would be living her sister's boring life.

My Opinion
I love how the sisters were able to solve their differences. Being in each other's bodies made them understand what the other person is going through. While Hayley was wishing to be in her sister's shoes, getting all the attention, Alexia was also wishing to be Hayley, living a quiet life and doing excellently well in her academics.

Just like Alexia and Hayley, there are times we admire people and wish to be them without knowing how much the person is really wishing to be us.

It's so funny how we often admire how others live their lives by what we see or perceive without knowing their struggles and insecurities.

There's so much to learn from the movie, like self-acceptance. We need to recognize our self-worth and accept that we are unique in our own way.

My Rating
I would rate it 7/10. I would also recommend it, at least it can be watched during family movie night 👌

THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END 🤗

Body switch movies are fun to watch. I like the realization of the souls when they discover that what they were after was a mere shadow and not real.

The grass looks greener from afar. Sometimes we just make wishes without knowing the struggles and pain
