Wayward: Masterpiece or Disappointment?【 🇪🇸 - 🇺🇸 】

Hace semanas quise ver una serie diferente y recién estrenada en Netflix llamada Incontrolables, serie que decidí ver porque es un thriller cargado de misterio y mucho drama pero más que todo porque trabaja la actriz Toni Collette de quien soy ultra fan por sus actuaciones en la gran pantalla.
Greetings #CineTV moviegoers. Weeks ago, I wanted to watch a different series that was just released on Netflix called Wayward, a series that I decided to watch because it is a thriller full of mystery and a lot of drama, but more than anything. After all, the actress Toni Collette is in it, of whom I am a huge fan for her performances on the big screen.

I was really looking forward to writing this post as soon as I finished watching the series, but as soon as I started searching the internet to find the images and put together my post, I came across something unpleasant: the series was highly criticized by the public.

Las actuaciones estuvieron a todo dar, especialmente la de Toni Collette, ella de por si es especialista en interpretar personajes que dan miedo o tienen un lado psicótico. Su actuación quedó en mi memoria por lo grandioso que lo hizo y sus coprotagonistas no se quedan atrás.
The performances were top-notch, especially that of Toni Collette, who is a specialist in portraying characters who are scary or have a psychotic side. Her performance will remain in my memory for its superb quality, and her co-stars are no slouches either.
La trama que se desarrolla en la serie es sobre un lugar especial que se encarga de reformar a los adolescentes problemáticos o rebeldes. Pero este lugar especial oculta algo más siniestro y macabro. No todo es lo que parece, así que con ese toque terrorífico no lo pensé dos veces y me vi la serie completa en un día.
The plot of the series is about a special place that is tasked with reforming troubled or rebellious teenagers. But this special place hides something more sinister and macabre. Not everything is what it seems, so with that terrifying touch, I didn't think twice and watched the entire series in one day.
Tiene sólo 8 episodios de 40 a 55 minutos cada uno. La historia me atrapó inmediatamente y no podía parar de verla. Desde un principio conectas con alguno de los personajes principales y te intrigan tanto que necesitas saber qué pasará a continuación, pero esta es una de esas series en las que no puedes predecir nada.
It only has eight episodes, each lasting 40 to 55 minutes. The story immediately captivated me, and I couldn't stop watching. From the beginning, you connect with some of the main characters and become so intrigued that you need to know what will happen next, but this is one of those series where you can't predict anything.
Y claramente se nota que ese lugar llamado Tall Pines, en vez de ayudar, lo que hace es agravar más al interno, generando una especie de comportamiento psicótico que como yo lo veo, los vuelve más peligrosos que como entraron.
And it is clearly noticeable that this place, called Tall Pines, instead of helping, what it does is aggravate the inmate more, generating a kind of psychotic behavior that, as I see it, makes them more dangerous than when they entered.
Si, es cierto que la serie tiene tanto misterio que llega un punto en el que no sabes qué está pasando realmente y todo se vuelve confuso, pero a mi me encantó. Yo amé la trama, amé las actuaciones y amé el desarrollo cinematográfico de todo en general.
The series is indeed so mysterious that it gets to a point where you don't know what's really going on and everything becomes confusing, but I loved it. I loved the plot, I loved the acting, and I loved the overall cinematic development of everything.
Y por lo que tengo entendido a la mayoría de las personas no les gustó por lo ilógico que resultó todo. Pero más que eso, creo que se debe al final. No es un final feliz como el que uno siempre está acostumbrado. Y agregado a eso, suceden cosas macabras con personas dañadas mentalmente.
And from what I understand, most people didn't like it because of how illogical everything turned out to be. But more than that, I think it's due to the ending. It's not the happy ending you're used to. And on top of that, gruesome things happen to mentally damaged people.
Así que deja una sensación desagradable, emocionalmente hablando, con su final. Y el personaje que interpretó Toni Collette es tan abrumador que estoy segura de que muchas personas van a usarla a ella de inspiración para disfrazarse este Halloween. Por eso creo que la serie no es para todo el mundo.
So it leaves a rather unpleasant feeling, emotionally speaking, with its ending. And the character played by Toni Collette is so overwhelming that I'm sure many people will use her as inspiration for their Halloween costumes. That's why I think the series isn't for everyone.
Aun así me atreví a armar este post para recomendarsela a quien de verdad le guste este tipo de trama. He visto películas bizarras, series sin sentido y esta no se parece a ninguna de ellas, tuvo potencial y tanto la han visto que superó el ranking de Alice in Borderland. Así que algo debe tener de bueno, ¿no lo creen? De mi parte le otorgo sus bien merecidas:
Even so, I dared to put together this post to recommend it to anyone who truly enjoys this type of plot. I've seen bizarre movies and pointless TV shows, and this one isn't like any of them. It had potential, and so many people watched it that it surpassed Alice in Borderland in the rankings. So there must be something to it, don't you think? For my part, I'll give it its well-deserved praise:

Done watching it. The plot is good but the ending I'm disappointed. Abbie escaped and what will happen to Leila and the rest of the kids? Hope there's S2.
And just because its ending isn't happy isn't worth watching? I don't think that has anything to do with it; it rather shows the psychological pressure that cults can inflict on the people who belong to them.
In the end, everyone made their own decision. That it wasn't the best one? That's true, but that also shows that everyone is human and that their emotions control their decisions, just like many people.
I found the series quite realistic, which is why I really liked it and recommend it. It makes you think. And like you, I hope for a second season, but I doubt they'll make it. Cheers!
I know it's not happy ending. Those kids, the baby, laura and her parents,the community. The cult group will continue. I'm hoping too for the 2nd season. Too much hanging questions. ☺️🤔
Yes, lol 😂😂😂 There are still many viewers with the same doubts as you. For my part, I think the cult will continue, with different oversight and a new perspective. Those people were hurt a lot, and it would be interesting to see that new phase in that town. Netflix has potential with this story; they should take advantage of it.
