Daredevil: Born Again | First Impression Review
Hi Friends,
So, in this quick review, we will talk about Daredevil Born Again, a series for which Marvel organized a special screening, creating an amazing atmosphere that I attended. They showed a total of two episodes there, and while avoiding spoilers, I can give my honest opinion about how the show feels on the surface. Marvel didn’t impose any restrictions whatsoever, meaning if I liked the show, I’ll tell you directly, and if there’s anything negative, we’ll discuss it. But keep in mind, it’s completely spoiler-free.
I was super excited to watch this show, with the hope that it would portray the Hell’s Kitchen universe in the MCU with an honest approach, or if they’d just slap a rating on it for the sake of it. So, about all that, I’d say, man, in just two episodes, the way MCU has built and presented Daredevil’s universe—yes, very well done—I’d say Marvel knows exactly how to grab the audience’s attention with this show.
The characters move along nicely, but there’s also a case that’s progressing very well. Amidst all this, with Kingpin and Foggy, the show, in my opinion, has done a fantastic job of creating its vibe. The world-building in this show, though gradual, has been done by holding onto the characters so well. The first episode, the character presentation, and that single-take scene—definitely doesn’t let you budge even a bit. My major disappointment was that, man, on the big screen, you can tell where they’ve used CGI characters. The intro feels like that too.
After that, the show, as I said, is developing things at its own pace for now, caught up in the buildup, which should definitely explode later. Because with such a strong start, MCU always wins fans’ hearts with its shows. But that “all’s well that ends well” situation often gets rusty in MCU’s case, which I absolutely don’t want to see with this show. On top of that, the characters and their situations, along with all the references—yes, MCU references—are going very strong.
This show will definitely keep us hooked for all nine episodes. Because on the 5th, you’ll also get to see the two episodes, after which one episode will be released every week. This shows that Marvel is so confident about this show that they’ll run it for two whole months so we can fully understand its world. And after diving into it, we can directly enjoy films like Thunderbolts.
You’ve probably heard about some official casting for Season 2, that some actors have been cast. Besides, Season 2 is moving forward with full momentum in production. And on top of that, we’ve been given a hint about Season 3, which makes it clear that the ground-level buildup situations being created for Daredevil—this show has laid its foundation for all of that.
That’s why this show, with its approach, as I said, feels ground-level. But now, how it merges and blends with the others as a merger, we’ll just have to sit and wait for that. Because any more details would definitely fall into the spoiler category. So, leaving that aside, I’ll just say that Marvel has made a good show with a lot of care.
I’ll give you a detailed review too. For now, that’s all from my side in this reaction. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Thanks for no "No spoilers" review. Its hard not to do that now adays😊.
