[ENG-ESP] Westworld - Review (NO SPOILERS)

Westworld is the HBO television series for adults, which mixes old western stories with an advanced technological reality that resembles what we live today on social networks.

The series, starring Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright and Ed Harris, is set around the year 2162 on Earth, where humans have been able to create versions of themselves using advanced bioinformatics engineering technology and robotics. William, owner of Delos company, specializing in the construction of fictional parks, submits himself to an adventure to interact with its characters, in a search for his own reality and existence.

La serie, protagonizada por Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright y Ed Harris, se ambienta cerca del año 2162 en la Tierra, donde los humanos han podido crear versiones de sí mismos usando tecnología avanzada de ingeniería bioinformática y robótica. William, dueño de la compañia Delos, especializada en la construcción de parques ficticios, se somete en una aventura para interactuar con los personajes del mismo en una búsqueda por su propia realidad y existencia.

Anthony Hopkins, Hiroyuki Sanada, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, Tessa Thompson and Aaron Paul are actors who credit it with their incredible performance, a motivating experience throughout the series, showing us a story that takes place between the past and present so that we can understand the advancement of humanity and how we got there.

Dolores, the central character of the plot, struggles between both realities in her mind, becoming aware of her nature, who then starts a rebellion to escape the control of her creators, the humans.

The series makes religious allusions many times but from a technological point of view, mixing the spiritual with the material. It contains many action scenes, constant fighting, blood, nudity and violent language, which makes it an adult series.

La serie hace alusión religiosa muchas veces pero desde el punto de vista tecnológico, mezclando lo espiritual con lo material. Contiene muchas escenas de acción, lucha constante, sangre, desnudez y lenguaje violento, lo que la hace una serie para adultos.

When Game of Thrones in its last chapter crashed with various technical failures, Westworld merged its story with this one, giving it a different perspective where it pretended that Game of Thrones is no more that one of the many parks of Delos, being able to see the dragon of the series making a cameo with its creators.

Cuando Game of Thrones en su último capítulo se precipitó con varias fallas técnicas, Westworld fusionó su historia con ésta, dándole a la misma una diferente perspectiva donde simulaba que Game of Thrones no es más que uno de los tantos parques de Delos, pudiéndose ver al dragón de la serie haciendo un cameo junto a sus creadores.

The main plot takes place in the desert, full of cowboys, Indians, horses and horsemen with guns, but little by little we are shown other parks such as Japan, India, Spain and the United States.

La trama principal sucede en el desierto, lleno de vaqueros, indios, caballos y jinetes con pistolas, pero poco a poco se nos van mostrando otros parques como en Japón, India, España y Estados Unidos.

With four seasons to date, the series manages to maintain an increasingly better rhythm, where it's not until the third, that we see civilization as such, humanity controlled by large companies, who use their mobile phones and are connected for the most part of time, knowing these as well: their data, tastes, abilities and even the future history of what a person can do and the date of death of each individual. Upon reaching this part of the story, it becomes a little more terrifying when you compare the reality that exists there with ours, which is not very different.

Con cuatro temporadas hasta la fecha, la serie logra mantener un ritmo cada vez mejor, donde no es hasta la tercera, que vemos la civilización como tal, la humanidad controlada por las grandes compañías, quienes usan sus teléfonos móviles y están conectados la mayor parte del tiempo, conociendo estas así: sus datos, gustos, capacidades y hasta el historial futuro de lo que una persona puede llegar a hacer y la fecha de muerte de cada individuo. Al llegar a esta parte de la historia se hace un poco más terrorífica cuando se compara la realidad que se vive allí con la nuestra que no es muy diferente.

The inclusion of actor Aaron Paul as the main character since the third season gives the show a much more serious touch, with more action and suspense, accompanied by the performance of Thandie Newton as Maeve.

La inclusión del actor Aaron Paul como personaje principal desde la tercera temporada le da un toque mucho más serio al show, con más acción y suspenso, acompañado de la actuación de Thandie Newton como Maeve.

The non-existence of an antagonist character makes us question how wrong the same central character could be, sharing the points of view of all the other characters as good or bad.

La inexistencia de un antagonista hace que nos cuestionemos qué tan errado pueda estar el mismo personaje central, compartiendo puntos de vista de todos los demás personajes como buenos o malos.

Westworld is an undoubtedly spectacular series, a great success that manages to entertain its audience on the small screen with excellent actors and a story that, if you miss a dialogue, you are at risk of not understanding what comes after. Do I recommend it? Yes, totally.

Westworld es una serie sin duda espectacular, un gran éxito que consigue entretener a su audiencia en la pantalla chica con excelentes actores y una historia que, si te pierdes un diálogo, quedas en riesgo a no entender lo que viene detrás. ¿Te la recomiendo? Sí, totalmente.
