Do Revenge is a stylish modern teen film. It deviates a little from the usual teen trope, it brings teen drama, dark comedy, and a dark twist.

The film is set with Drea, a high schooler and the queen bee of her Rosehill Country Day School. Drea makes a personal sensual video for her boyfriend, and it gets leaked, shattering her reputation.
Then we have Eleanor, a transfer student with a mysterious past. Eleanor was outed back then by someone she thought she trusted and her reputation was shattered.
Eleanor, looking for a fresh start at Rosehill Country Day School, meets the once-popular queen bee, Drea. They form an unlikely friendship based on a promise to get revenge for each other on their different nemesis without suspicion.
In time, their fun plan for revenge spirals into chaos, betrayal, hidden agendas, and self-discovery.
It goes from teen revenge to something emotional making best friends with a strong bond.

Camilla Mendes portrayed her role as Drea perfectly— a strong-witted, brilliant, and vulnerable girl who has built a high status for herself among rich and spoiled kids. Unlike the other kids who have everything laid on a platter of gold for them, Drea made her way to the top by hiding her vulnerability under a tough shell.

The same goes for Maya Hawke; she played her role as Eleanor perfectly, and she gave off that mysterious and cunning vibe. And I loved the switch to a dark vibe later.

And the twist at the end makes it even darker; after the reveal, it gives Eleanor an even deeper character. The connection between Drea and Eleanor was the core of the movie.

I like the way they were able to make it funny and also keep it real and serious, even dark.

The movie doesn't just show the trauma and mistakes of Drea and Eleanor, and the stages of the making of their bond. It also shows male privilege, abuse of power, and the use of high status to manipulate the community through the character Max.

The plot was good, the dialogue was tight and never slacking, and the cinematography and theme were on point.

My favorite part of the movie was the reveal of Eleanor's true identity. And the satisfaction of seeing Max getting exposed was wonderful.

The only things I don't really like about the movie, which is the same thing I don't like in most teen dramas, are the drugs and parties; they always try to create this escape fantasy of high school being all about status, scandal, drama, parties, and the worst drugs. At some point, I started wondering if it is that easy to encounter drugs in high schools in reality.

I get that they usually add the parties' scandal and drugs to get the audience hooked with the drama and all. But still, I would like to see a teen high school movie where they don't have to magnify these things to make the movie interesting.

But at least do revenge wasn't as bad as elite.

Overall, it is a flashy teen movie layered with trauma, social pressure, obsession with image, humor, and consequences of actions. I give it a rating of 7/10.
If you love teen drama with a dark twist, then I think Do Revenge will be worth your watch.

This is a clear example of what is happening in real life too in students life. The sneak out, party, drugs, etc

And these movies seem to over do it and trying to make it feel like it should be normal

I really enjoyed reading this! You described the movie so well. The bond between Drea and Eleanor was truly touching. And yeah, I totally feel you on the party and drug scenes sometimes it just feels a bit overdone.
