The first interesting K-Drama I have seen this year.

One of my resolutions this year is to find time to relax no matter what, and one of the most luring ways of relaxing for me, as it works perfectly with my body system, is watching movies. So yes, I have made it a habit to give time to movies this year. The year has just started and I have watched two movies already. Although one is done and I am currently watching the second one, this second movie is the one I find more interesting, and that will be my response to this prompt: “The first interesting K-Drama I have seen this year.” The title is SWEET HOME.

This series, just like I mentioned in the review I already made on season one, is something I find very interesting, especially because of the supernatural flow of the movie. The movie presents a situation where everyone wakes up to meet the world in a chaotic state. People are turning into murderous monsters and there is no clue as to what is happening. The worst part of the situation is that no one is exempt. One can be fighting to survive and, before they even realize it, the dreadful symptom — nosebleed — takes place, and then they turn into a monster of any kind.

This is the situation the movie presents, and the main characters are residents of Green Land Home who get stuck in the building. These once-strangers in the block eventually turn into a family, joining hands together to fight for survival. There is a strong flow of emotions and suspense, but the greatest twist happens when it is discovered that not all monsters are killable, and not all of them can harm humans when they are under control. Cha Hyun-Su, one of the residents of the block, possesses a monster character that is not killable. No matter how badly he is butchered or scattered, he always turns back into a human after a snap. This kind of being is referred to as a special infectee, and shockingly, he is not the only one of his kind — many others like him are out there.

Like I have always said, I am not a fan of unrelated monstrous creatures in movies, especially the computerized ones. Yes, I get turned off very quickly. But this one is an exception because nothing feels overly computerized. I mean, the monsters are not purely a result of computer effects like we often see in Marvel movies.

The movie has three seasons. I am currently on the third season, and I will give it an 8/10 so far.

Thanks for reading.

At first I thought it's another zombie kdrama but then again, there's no much difference.

I truly enjoy this type of kdramas alot - train to Busan, All of us are dead, Happiness and I didn't hesitate to add Kingdom which I read your review on, to my list.
And of course, this too 🥰.
