Mine & my wife's PCs each have 64GB RAM. Unraid Home Server has 128GB. Proxmox box has 64GB. I have my wife's old motherboard sitting on top of its box in my server rack, that also has 64GB of RAM.
From what I've seen, the smaller hosts are either colocating a few U of servers or renting from a bigger player and splitting that into VMs. What's rough for them is that one of the cheap DDOS protection providers, Neoprotect isn't providing the service anymore(https://neoprotect.statuspage.io/incidents/kdmtx0wk3h1l) because Neoprotect's own provider cut them off. Add the rising cost of RAM and any of the providers who did super cheap servers($1/mo servers etc) are going to need to raise their prices to keep their margins or they'll be going negative.
I bought a server with 1TB of ram for like $750 about a year ago. This is a full machine(without disks tho). Now just the ram alone is worth between $1.5k to $2.5k depending on how quick I want to sell it(if I wanted to).
I don't think we'll see price changes with providers like Digital Ocean/ Hetzner/ etc. They have the scale and purchasing power to buy a ton at once. I'm talking about the actual small players. The one's who's MRR is measured in thousands at max, not millions. They are the ones who are going to suffer the most throughout this time.

Domains won't be affected(directly). And Hostinger(even though I'm not a fan of them) is large enough to not be affected so you should be fine there :)
Whenever I scroll though a snap with video, the video starts to play on its own. It's annoying. Can we get an update and make the playing optional? I mean if anyone's interested, can click on it and watch.
Maybe you should try it on the snapie app, they fixed this issue. But yeah that is a standard thing that should be happening by default. At the very least video should be stopped and or muted by default, and sound should fade away if watching and scroll away.
why not, what do you have against snapie app? I think you would find it a superior snaps viewing experience, and it was developed by a trusted community member @meno too so it’s really safu, only uses posting key and never sends it online.
It is a bug for sure, the peakd guys are more than happy to fix it, if they get the necessary details, I'm sure of that, yet here's I am, wasting my time explaining to you why I don't want to further complicate my life if it's not necessary.

I agree it should not auto play any videos unless configured to do so from the settings. I personally like the video to autoplay, but not the sound. Imagine if multiple videos autoplay from different snaps, this could hurt performance, crash your browser, not to mention be real annoying.

Mine & my wife's PCs each have 64GB RAM. Unraid Home Server has 128GB. Proxmox box has 64GB. I have my wife's old motherboard sitting on top of its box in my server rack, that also has 64GB of RAM.
Yeah it's nuts the way the price is going up. We are going to see a lot of cheap hosts bring their prices up.

From what I've seen, the smaller hosts are either colocating a few U of servers or renting from a bigger player and splitting that into VMs. What's rough for them is that one of the cheap DDOS protection providers, Neoprotect isn't providing the service anymore(https://neoprotect.statuspage.io/incidents/kdmtx0wk3h1l) because Neoprotect's own provider cut them off. Add the rising cost of RAM and any of the providers who did super cheap servers($1/mo servers etc) are going to need to raise their prices to keep their margins or they'll be going negative.
I bought a server with 1TB of ram for like $750 about a year ago. This is a full machine(without disks tho). Now just the ram alone is worth between $1.5k to $2.5k depending on how quick I want to sell it(if I wanted to).
I don't think we'll see price changes with providers like Digital Ocean/ Hetzner/ etc. They have the scale and purchasing power to buy a ton at once. I'm talking about the actual small players. The one's who's MRR is measured in thousands at max, not millions. They are the ones who are going to suffer the most throughout this time.

Domains won't be affected(directly). And Hostinger(even though I'm not a fan of them) is large enough to not be affected so you should be fine there :)

Whenever I scroll though a snap with video, the video starts to play on its own. It's annoying. Can we get an update and make the playing optional? I mean if anyone's interested, can click on it and watch.

YouTube videos not autoplaying, only this type of video and usually skaters are uploading these.
maybe take a small video of the issue and post it? I did see those skater video’s playing automatically, didn’t notice the sound though.
If you have the sound muted, you won't. If the video starts playing automatically, the sound is playing as well. Logical.

Maybe you should try it on the snapie app, they fixed this issue. But yeah that is a standard thing that should be happening by default. At the very least video should be stopped and or muted by default, and sound should fade away if watching and scroll away.
I'm not gonna try it on snappy app. I'm using peakd and it should not autoplay the video.
why not, what do you have against snapie app? I think you would find it a superior snaps viewing experience, and it was developed by a trusted community member @meno too so it’s really safu, only uses posting key and never sends it online.

I agree it should not auto play any videos unless configured to do so from the settings. I personally like the video to autoplay, but not the sound. Imagine if multiple videos autoplay from different snaps, this could hurt performance, crash your browser, not to mention be real annoying.
It happens to me in mobile. But I didn't notice it in pc.
