Watch One Of This Today

MOBLAND

The series is created by Ronan Bennett, with a script by him and Jez Butterworth, and Guy Ritchie serving as executive producer. Starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, it's a story about two rival mafia families clashing in a war that threatens to bring down empires and lives.
Is it worth watching? For me, absolutely yes!

🟢🟢🟢🟢

  • Tom Hardy is, in my opinion, at his best — this role fits him like a glove.
  • Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are equally fantastic.
  • Overall, the casting is really well done.
  • Great direction.
  • A crime drama that gives you exactly what you want — and the world of gangs has always fascinated me.
  • Fast-paced.
  • There are scenes that make you go "wow", and the final episode is very well directed.
  • Lots of action scenes that are a pleasure to watch.
    -Full of suspense and tension.

🔴🔴🔴🔴

  • The cliffhanger ending is clearly there to set up the next season, but it didn’t fully convince me — you can kind of tell what’s coming next (no spoilers).
  • At times, it leans into a darker, more serious tone than necessary.
  • It doesn’t bring anything new to the genre and is a bit predictable — but it doesn’t bother you because it’s visually enjoyable.
  • The final episode is strong, but it didn’t take the risks I was hoping for (perhaps intentionally, since it’s meant to continue).

UNTIL DAWN

A year after the mysterious disappearance of her sister Melanie, Clover and her friends head to the remote valley where she vanished, searching for answers. While exploring an abandoned visitor center, a masked figure begins hunting them down and killing them one by one… only for them to wake up and find themselves back at the start of the same night.
Is this horror film, based on the video game of the same name, worth it?
For me, not really!

🟢🟢🟢🟢

  • The gore element will satisfy a portion of the audience.
  • There are a few mildly effective jump scares.
  • Thankfully, it’s short 😅
  • It includes some Easter eggs for fans of the video game.
  • The subplot with the mine — not bad, but lacks proper development.
  • The production seems intentionally not to take itself too seriously — and for some reason, I kinda liked that.

🔴🔴🔴🔴

  • Performances range from bland to poor, making the characters feel almost unlikeable.
  • Quite predictable and repetitive.
  • Weak directing, which in other circumstances could have saved the film.
  • The script… doesn’t work — pointless dialogue and outdated clichés! 🤷‍♂️
  • I didn’t find it particularly scary.
  • Would have worked better as a streaming movie.
Tries to mimic films like Cabin in the Woods, but doesn’t pull it off.

Thank you very much for sharing.
Either way, I will look up both options to arrive at conclusions, although from what you explain the series is better produced.

I don't like the horror genre, although I have seen some movies of this type like "Escaleras de Caracol" that for the quality of the performances and the plot of the movie I liked.

It is important, in any audiovisual production, that the script and the performance of the actors are good, otherwise the final result for the viewer will not be good.

I will look for the series first because I like the plot and the performances are good.

Thanks for sharing.

Happy Sunday.

Cheers and best regards.
