Yes, throughout all these reviews we have talked about many studios of great quality and category but I think none of them can compare with the aesthetics and sensibility that Studio Ghibli can offer. This is a studio that you either like or dislike, I feel that there are no grays here and its animation and the design of all its characters is extremely particular. But I think the most important thing is the stories that are told, each of their films are highly emotional that touch aspects of life itself that make you as a viewer connect very quickly with them. So today I talk to you a little of the best of this mythical animation house.

Si, a lo largo de todas estas reseñas hemos hablado de muchos estudios de gran calidad y categoría pero creo que ninguno de ellos se puede comparar con la estética y la sensibilidad que el Studio Ghibli puede ofrecer. Este es un estudio que te gusta o no, siento que no hay grises acá y es que su animación y el diseño de todos sus personajes es sumamente particular. Pero creo que lo más importante son las historias que se cuentan, cada una de sus películas son altamente emocionales que tocan aspectos de la vida misma que hacen que uno como espectador conecte muy rápido con ellas. Así que hoy les hablo un poco de lo mejor de esta casa de animación tan mítica.

Howl's moving castle is one of the most visually brutal pieces from this studio. This is a magical story where what predominates are curses, witches and a castle that has a life of its own. Sophie is a young girl who suffers a curse at the hands of the Witch of the Moor and is “condemned” to be an old woman despite the adventurous and lively spirit she has. In this film she will have to find a way to reverse that spell on a journey that will change her life forever and the characters she meets along the way are most endearing. I know it is not the best of the studio but it is one of the films that I liked the most; the relationships of the characters, the setting, the level of detail, everything makes it a great film.

El castillo ambulante (howl's moving castle) es una de las piezas más brutales a nivel visual que tiene este estudio. Esto es una historia mágica en donde lo que predomina son las maldiciones, brujas y un castillo que tiene vida propia. Sophie es una joven que sufre una maldición en manos de la Bruja del Páramo y es que la "condenaron" a ser una anciana a pesar del espíritu aventurero y vivo que tiene. En esta película ella tendrá que buscar la forma de revertir ese hechizo en un viaje que le va a cambiar la vida para siempre y es que los personajes que conoce en el camino son de más entrañables. Se que no es el mejor del estudio pero es uno de los films que más me han gustado; las relaciones de los personajes, la ambientación, el nivel de detalle, todo la hace una gran película.

When I talked about Toei Animation, I mentioned Mononoke for its animation. Well, I would say that the equivalent in this studio is this extraordinary movie that is considered one of the best in anime animation. It took them almost 8 years to make it and when you see it you will know why. Here we see an animation based on pure traditional strokes where the rustic and rudimentary takes on a meaning that makes you stay enraptured watching the screen. Basically we have a “princess” who never asked for such a title and now, due to circumstances, has to live in royalty. This is a drama that touches on issues such as freedom and living as simply as possible in the face of the social pressure of being in a high position. Beyond the plot I think what is really valuable is the visuals, that's why it's in my top.

Cuando hablé de Toei Animation mencioné a Mononoke por su animación. Pues diría que la equivalencia en este estudio es esta película tan extraordinaria que es considerada de lo mejor de la animación en el anime. Fueron casi 8 años que se tardaron en hacer y esto y cuando la vean sabrán el por qué. Acá vemos una animación basada en puro trazo tradicional en donde lo rústico y rudimentario cobra un sentido para que uno se quede embelesado viendo la pantalla. Basicamente tenemos a una "princesa" que nunca pidió tal título y que ahora por circunstancias le toca vivir en la realeza. Esto es un drama en donde se toca temas como la libertad y el vivir de la forma más sencilla posible frente a la presión social que supone estar en una alta posición. Más allá de la trama que tiene creo que lo realmente valioso es lo visual por eso está en mi top.

I've always said it, I'm not a fan of romanticism but sometimes I feel it's necessary to sit down and watch a film of this style. This film is neither Miyazaki's nor Takahata's in terms of direction and yet I think it's one of the studio's best. Shizuku is a young woman who loves to read, she is a writer, and one day she notices that a young man, Seiji, checks out all the books she chooses from the library. From there begins a very pure relationship where love and destiny become protagonists. It is the plot that touches the typical teenage romance but here they make it look more mature and sincere and despite their young ages as people complement each other very well, the support for the pursuit of dreams is great. Although the animation is again a reflection of previous films, what is really worth is the depth of the story. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy a young romance.

Siempre lo he dicho, no soy fanatico del romanticismo pero a veces siento que es necesario sentarse a ver una película de este estilo. Este film no es ni de Miyazaki ni de Takahata en cuanto a la dirección y aún así creo que es de lo mejor del estudio. Shizuku es una joven que le encanta leer, es escritora, y un día se da cuenta de que un joven, Seiji, saca de la biblioteca todos los libros que ella escoge. A partir de ahí comienza una relación muy pura en donde el amor y el destino se convierten en protagonistas. Es la trama que toca el típico romance de adolescentes pero acá lo hacen ver más maduro y sincero y es que a pesar de sus cortas edades como personas se complementan muy bien, el apoyo por la persecución de los sueños es grande. Si bien la animación vuelve a ser un reflejo de películas anteriores, lo que realmente vale es la profundidad de la historia. Muy recomendada si quieren disfrutar de un romance juvenil.

- Porco Rosso

I think this is one of Studio Ghibli's most mature films. Here we don't have the brave and feisty female protagonist that Miyazaki likes, but rather a bitter pilot with a somewhat macho air who is turned into a pig. This is set in fascist Italy so we will see a lot of war context. The reality is that our pilot is a hopeless romantic because he is always self-sabotaging himself with the fact that he is living a life that, according to him, he does not deserve. And behind this very particular character there is an extremely sad love story, even more than that of other films and whose ending is one of the most introspective there is, it gives a lot to think about. It's been a while since I've seen it, let's see if I give it a chance after a few years but I put it here because I remember it as a very melancholic film and different from what is the essence of Studio Ghibli.

Creo que esta es de las películas más maduras del Studio Ghibli. Aquí no tenemos a la protagonista mujer valiente y aguerrida que le gusta a Miyazaki sino que estamos ante un piloto amargado y con unos aires un tanto machistas que está convertido en cerdo. Esto está ambientado en la Italia fascista por lo que veremos mucho contexto de guerra. La realidad es que nuestro piloto es un romántico empedernido porque siempre se autosabotea con el hecho de que está viviendo una vida que según él no se merece. Y es que detrás de este personaje tan particular hay una historia de amor sumamente triste, incluso mucho más que la de otras películas y que cuyo final es de los más introspectivos que hay, da bastante para pensar. Hace tiempo que no la veo, vamos a ver si le doy la oportunidad después de unos años pero la pongo acá porque la recuerdo como un film muy melancólico y diferente a lo que es la esencia del Studio Ghibli.

El estudio Ghibli es un viaje por muchos aspectos de la vida misma en todas sus películas. Es complicado en encasillar a estos films pero la realidad es que la gran mayoría son buenisimos. Estos fueron los que más me gustaron, pero el Castillo Ambulante es increíble así que yo soy tu comenzaría por ahí.

Me quedo con la perfecta animacion del Studio Ghibli y es que no siempre se quedaba con su estilo particular de animacion, vemos como cambio en la Princesa Kaguya, aunque no vi esta pelicula, sí vi la animacion y aunque no es la misma que en las demas peliculas, es estupenda 😍 para mi Ghibli se lleva el premio, tanto por animacion como por las historias, simplemente hermoso ❤️ jeje

No conozco a nadie que no les guste el trabajo de este estudio. Por lo menos una película les llama la atención. La princesa Kaguya es muy buena pero tienes que estar lista para ver algo poco común y convencional que en lo personal me parece perfecto. Ese estilo rústico en los trazos es increíble por lo complicado que es hacerlos películas.
