MOVIE RECOMMENDATION: Howl no Ugoku Shiro [Eng/Esp]
ENGLISH VERSION:
Hello everyone and to the #theanimerealm community ❤️, I hope you're all doing well and having a lovely day ✨
Today I'm going to recommend a movie that I could watch a thousand times and enjoy it as if it were the first time. This film was made by Studio Ghibli, and beyond having a magical story, beautiful animation, and a warm soundtrack, it has a very genuine narrative that teaches us many things... including the importance of accepting ourselves as we are.
> Howl no Ugoku Shiro / ハウルの動く城 / El castillo ambulante / El castillo caminante de Howl / El increíble castillo vagabundo

SYNOPSIS / SUMMARY:
It tells the story of Sophie, a young woman cursed to look like an old woman. Sophie decides to seek help from the wizard Howl, who lives in a moving castle, but perhaps it is Howl who needs Sophie's help. - Synopsis compiled from FILMAFFINITY.

Many may know this movie because of a very particular scene that happens at the beginning between Sophie and Howl (I will attach a small part of the scene I mention since it is a moment that I love very much), but today we will observe and delve a little deeper into the plot of this movie.

SOPHIE: GROWING UP, AGING, AND SELF-ACCEPTANCE:
Sophie is a sweet-natured young milliner. She is very shy and lives a quiet life...

But not everything in her life will be very "peaceful" since she is turned into an old woman by a curse placed on her by a witch.
However, instead of falling apart, Sophie begins to gradually free herself... she lets go of worries about how others see her and starts to gain confidence. This change helps her become stronger as a person, more determined, and above all, more caring for others.

HOWL: CHARISMATIC AND AFRAID OF FACING REALITY:
Unlike Sophie, who maintains a much calmer demeanor, Howl is an extroverted and charming person (let's not forget how handsome he is with both hair colors 🤣). At first glance, he appears self-assured, but his greatest inner conflict is his fear of losing who he is.

He is the master of the moving castle, and despite his energetic appearance, he rejects everything related to war (although it's not the film's main theme, this conflict remains present).
As the plot unfolds, we see his fear slowly consuming him, and the only person capable of helping him... is Sophie.

CALCIFER: THE BURNING SOUL OF THE CASTLE:
Calcifer is a very peculiar character. Although at first glance he may seem like a demon or a fiery being, he is the heart that keeps the Wandering Castle alive. He is a very expressive character who will make us laugh a lot with his sarcasm, but behind this facade lies a profound truth...

Due to a magical contract, he is bound to Howl, and despite appearing to be a very funny and charismatic character, we will come to understand that his existence is filled with sacrifice.
Something very particular (and at first we won't understand why this happens) is that his bond with Sophie is key, since she is the only person who treats him with respect, without fear or superiority (we will see some very sweet gestures where Sophie gradually earns his trust)... And this bond will be fundamental to breaking the spell that keeps them trapped.

TURNIP HEAD: MORE THAN IT SEEMS:
At first glance, we'll encounter a strange character (who might seem absurd or random), but Turnip Head's appearance (a scarecrow) is no coincidence.
He silently follows Sophie and occasionally helps her without asking for anything in return; he is a being who cannot speak and yet he protects and accompanies her in silence.
Later on, his identity will be revealed (at the end of the film), we will discover that he is a prince who had been bewitched... yet another victim of the same war that is presented throughout the film.

BESIDES THE CHARACTERS, WHY DO I NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING THIS MOVIE?
Despite being a film about magic, spells, fantasy, and war (although the plot isn't as explosive as it seems)... what impacts me most is the emotional ending. Sophie manages to break the spell by accepting herself, understanding that her worth doesn't depend on appearances, but rather that inner growth is what truly allows her to help others.
Furthermore, she will also be key in helping Howl confront his past and free his heart, breaking the contract that kept him chained to Calcifer. It's not magic that truly saves Howl, but Sophie's love, trust, and emotional courage.

In other words, she doesn't save him like a heroine or a warrior, but rather accompanies him, confronts him, and humanizes him.... Thanks to her, Howl stops running away from his problems and begins to face his fears, understanding that loving doesn't mean losing yourself.

> Howl no Ugoku Shiro / ハウルの動く城 / El castillo ambulante / El castillo caminante de Howl / El increíble castillo vagabundo

SINOPSIS / RESUMEN:

Saludos!✨
