Introduction

I do not know what bullying is until I am exposed to the internet. Believe it or not, I did not know what bullying was when I was still studying I just became aware of it when I began to consume information from the internet. The Glory is one of the series that has an element of bullying in it.

The Film's Narrative

The Episode One story is about a girl who is the subject of bullying by a group of students. The bullying is not just mental but also physical. The girl then was shown to have been abandoned by her mother after taking a bribe from the mother of the student who was bullying her.

Below is a screenshot of Song Hye-kyo who plays Moon Dong-eun in the series.

Thoughts

This episode was able to be by far one of the darkest bullying series that I have watched thus far. I can't imagine that a group of students would go as far as hurting another student just for the sake of bullying. If it is happening in real life it is unacceptable.

This episode actually failed to make me smile all I felt was anger. But then I knew that if a series/movie got too angry or joyous then it is good and the script and acting are effective. In the case of The Glory the story and the acting to me is very effective it gets me emotional.

Below is a screenshot of the scene where the teacher shows incompetence and seems to be consenting and doing nothing about bullying.

This episode is so heavy in drama and some violence mostly in the form of bullying. It has done a great job of portraying the characters and the acting is very effective.

This episode has done a great job in make-up prosthetics by making the scars of the female protagonist look real.

Below is a screenshot of the female protagonist with her visible scars.

What I can't quite understand is why a mother would abandon her daughter. I know. There's the scene when the female protagonists go into a room but then the landlady tells her that her mother has recently been moved out a while ago. Why would a mother abandon her daughter? Also, I don't understand why the female protagonist did not do anything to find her mother. Although this is only a TV series it would have been much better if the reason for the abandonment was mentioned.

Although I was able to follow the plot and the transition of scenes it could have been much better if they did not do it quite overlapping. Some scene transition from the past to present can be confusing but if you can pay attention to the detail it is not hard to get along with the scenes particularly the transition between the past and present scenes.

It is a mystery to me as to why the main antagonist was able to follow the protagonist that ended up in a violent confrontation to which the antagonist shook up the attack on her it was shown that she seems to be very confident that the protagonist cannot do more harm to her because of the simple that she can't that there is still a huge gap on them when it comes to power and influence which the antagonist have while the protagonist seems to be above the middle class but certainly not on the upper class of the society.

The idea of the protagonist's laying down herself on snow to lessen the pain of her wounds is brilliant I never thought that the writer used the idea instead of using medicine to lessen the pain.

It is also a mystery to me why the protagonist is talking to the daughter of the antagonist. But in this kind of scene, the main reason for this is about vengeance indirectly. I don't know how the writer will exploit the scene in the coming episodes. That being said, I am expecting a great extent of effectiveness that will come out on this scene. If I get disappointed, I get disappointed because this kind of scene cannot do justice it is not used effectively to a great extent.
There is a lot of mystery in this episode. The conversation between the protagonist to the young daughter of the antagonist. Why do the antagonists follow the protagonist to her new place? Why a mother has abandoned her daughter. Where are the rest of the antagonists, what will happen to them? Would the protagonist have her revenge, if yes, how is she going to do it?

Conclusion

This episode has done a great job of laying down the foundation for the fans to continue watching because of the numerous mysteries that were portrayed. Although I am not into violence I still acknowledge that it can be an effective medium for writers to get the attention of the audience just like what it did to me. I only wish that this should not be consumed by young audiences because it can have a profound effect on their mentality.

Since this episode got my attention and my curiosity I sure going to finish this series by watching the episodes one at a time or I can binge-watch if I have the time. Although binge-watching is not my thing because of my style of living I may try to do it for the first time.

This episode is a must-watch. I am sure that you guys will be going to be interested in this one. It has the thrilling element and some mystery to boot. I am going to rate this in the genre of Thriller and Mystery I am giving it a 8/10. Though this series should have been better it still did the right things which is very essential for audience retention.

It is true that bullying is a fact of real life and occurs not only in an extreme form in the U.S. but in other parts of the world. I think these series and movies made under this situation are to raise awareness, to make an impression, and for people to avoid turning a blind eye to such horrible cases as the ones you describe.

A movie that I don't recommend but also covers this topic is An American Crime released in 2007. It is a strong film, I saw it, cried, and spent a few days very bad emotionally after watching it. It is strong.

Well said, it is indeed a fact of real life that should not be taken for granted. It is also true that some in "authorities" like the professor or school officials sometimes are turning a blind eye against this form of violence simply because their career is at stake. It is a hard choice between which to choose, career? or stop bullying?

English

A film about bullying, it is striking for how real it is and like you the concept did not know it well until a few years ago thanks to the internet, think that this will always continue because it is in human nature but as rational beings can be controlled and it is good this kind of product raises awareness.

It is correct if you felt that sentimiento is because the script goes well at least in your case is right because that's what you want to convey, there are entities that peribir those feelings do not recommend products like this and I think that can not be because a product that is fulfilling its goal is massacred because the subject is not friendly, it is real
