This new year got off to a great start with high-quality movies and, above all, TV series, which have been the subject of much discussion, many of them with storylines that mark a turning point. The latest arrival is known as Él y ella (He and She), with a fairly simple pace, truths, lies, and it leads us to enjoy each episode with great care, as well as to observe every gesture, every half-told memory. One of the things that makes this production special is that from the first episode, it is clear that no one here is completely innocent, even when they seem fragile, since they are human and no one is perfect.

The story of this production has action, suspense, a little love, and therefore progresses like an uncomfortable conversation that never ended, especially between a couple, with him being the central focus of this entire production. He and she, separated by time, bad decisions, and too long silences, cross paths again when a crime brings back what they thought was buried, simply because they have jobs that need them. What is interesting is not so much the mystery itself, but how each one remembers what happened, how they justify themselves, how they protect themselves, and how to maintain a relationship of love and hate at the same time.

Este nuevo año arranco de la mejor manera con películas de buena calidad y sobre todo series, de la cual han dado mucho de que hablar, además muchas de ellas con historia que marcan un antes y un después. Esta nueva que llegó es conocida como Él y ella, con un ritmo bastante sencillo, verdades, mentiras y nos lleva a disfrutar con mucho cuidado cada uno de los episodios, como también a observar cada gesto, cada recuerdo contado a medias. Donde una de las cosas que hace que esta producción sea especial es que desde el primer episodio queda claro que aquí nadie está del todo limpio, ni siquiera cuando parece frágil, puesto que al ser son humanos y nadie es perfecto.

La historia de esta producción cuenta con acción, suspenso, un poco de amor y por eso avanza como una conversación incómoda que nunca se terminó especialmente de una pareja siendo él enfoqué central de toda esta producción. Él y ella separados por el tiempo, por decisiones mal tomadas y por silencios demasiado largos, se vuelven a cruzarse cuando un crimen remueve lo que creían enterrado, por el mismo hecho de tener trabajos que los necesita y lo interesante no es tanto el misterio en sí, sino cómo cada uno recuerda lo ocurrido, cómo se justifica, cómo se protege, y cómo llevar una relación de amor y odio al mismo tiempo.

In addition, you can see the different stories that don't end well, since for one it was love, for the other it was control, what one calls a mistake, the other calls betrayal, and many others that become apparent when things don't go well. That's why, as the episodes go by and being very short, as a viewer, you try to put together a puzzle knowing that some pieces may be missing or others may be superfluous, leading us to wonder: Will they be able to solve the case together, or will they go their separate ways before solving it?

La serie va tomando un ritmo tranquilo y van saliendo distintas pistas y por eso aquí la verdad no es un punto fijo, es un territorio movedizo. Además, se nota las historias distintas que no termina nada bien, ya que para uno fue amor, para el otro fue control, lo que uno llama error, el otro lo nombra traición y muchas otras que se van notando cuando las cosas no salen bien. Por eso a medida que van pasando los episodios y al ser muy cortos, uno como espectador, intentando ir a armar un rompecabezas sabiendo que quizá falten piezas o sobren otras y nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿Podrán resolver el caso juntos o se van a volver separar antes de resolver el caso?

Visually, this series feels very short, as it's practically just the two of them, and it lacks scenes that seek to impress more, show more of the background, and at the same time explore and cover more of the case. In addition, everything is at the service of the mood: long looks, awkward silences, heavy spaces. It is a series that relies on the viewer to fill in what is left unsaid, as it can have a different meaning for everyone, especially if you have been in a relationship like this, where truth and lies are a game.

If they make a second part, they can improve many things and thus be able to lay more paths that lead to new things and ultimately leave everyone satisfied. However, perhaps that is its greatest virtue: it does not seek to end with a nice bow, but rather to leave a feeling. That discomfort of wondering if we ever really know someone or if we only know the version that suits us to believe. Therefore, Él y ella is one of those series where you are left wondering if it has told the real story.

Visualmente, esta serie se vuelve muy corta, al ser prácticamente nada más ellos dos y hacen falta escenas que busquen impresionar más, mostrar más el trasfondo y a la vez poder explorar y abarcar más del caso. Además, todo está al servicio del clima: miradas largas, silencios incómodos, espacios que pesan. Es una serie que confía en que el espectador complete lo que no se dice, ya que para quien puede tener un significado distinto y sobre todo si te ha tocado pasar por una relación de esas, que las verdades y la mentira es un juego.

Si sacan una segunda parte pueden mejorar muchas cosas más y de esa manera poder colocar más caminos que llevan a más cosas nuevas y al final dejar satisfechos a todos. Sin embargo, quizás ahí está su mayor virtud: no busca cerrar con un lazo bonito, sino dejar una sensación. Esa incomodidad de preguntarte si alguna vez conocemos realmente a alguien o si solo conocemos la versión que nos conviene creer. Por lo tanto, Él y ella es de esa serie, donde uno misma queda dudando si habra contado la historia de verdad.
