En los últimos tiempos se han estrenado una gran variedad de películas de distintos géneros y cada una de ellas con algo que las caracteriza, pero muchas de ellas logran causar un impacto y causar miedo, estrés y a la vez seguí disfrutando. Por eso se estrenó la película Laberinto en llamas (2025), con una trama que nos lleva a disfrutar de una experiencia única y desde los primeros minutos ya existe peligro, miles de preguntas y cada segundo cuenta, ya que si no te vas a quedar atrapado igual que los personajes.

Este director busca crear su propia historia, pero toma como base los incendios reales de California y los convierte en un thriller de supervivencia, algo totalmente arriesgado y a la vez triste como en sus países ocurren ese tipo de eventos naturales que se escapan de las manos. Donde aquí cada segundo cuenta y no hay discurso, simplemente fuego, humos, niños y cada decisión cuenta, ya qué hay un reloj que corre en contra.

The story is very sad, yet it’s also an adventure for those involved to have had to go through something like that. It follows a bus driver—played by a strong man—accompanied by a teacher; each has their own personality, but they must work together until the very end and do the unthinkable: navigate through an out-of-control fire with a group of children. It sounds simple, but the film makes it clear that it’s anything but, and we find ourselves wondering: Will they make it? Which route should they take?

Another aspect that adds value to the film and sets it apart from others is the style in which the story is told, since it isn’t your typical fire movie, but rather adopts a tense, almost documentary-style approach, with handheld camerawork and quick cuts to capture every second of the situation—which is incredibly harrowing, as you feel helpless and it seems as though you’re witnessing the fire as closely as those actually there.

La historia es muy triste y a la vez es una aventura para los que están allí haber tenido que pasar por algo como eso y sigue a un conductor de autobús interpretado por un hombre fuerte, acompañado por una maestra, la cual cada uno tienen una personalidad, pero allí tiene que trabajar juntos hasta el final y hacer lo impensable: atravesar un incendio fuera de control con un grupo de niños. Suena simple, pero la película se encarga de demostrar que no lo es en absoluto y nos preguntamos ¿Podrán lograrlo?, ¿Qué vía tienen que tomar?

Otras de las cosas que le da valor a la película y puede llegar a ser muy diferente a las otras es ese estilo de cómo está contada la historia, puesto que no es la típica película de incendios, sino más bien apuesta en un estilo nervioso, casi documental, con cámara en mano y cortes rápidos para así ver cada segundo de esta situación, siendo algo muy desesperante, ya que uno no puede hacer nada y pareciera que se está viendo el incendio tan cerca como lo que están allí.

That’s why it’s perfect for reminding us that heroism isn’t always spectacular—sometimes it’s simply about not giving up. So it’s a different, daring, and quite effective film, based on real events that keep you on the edge of your seat.

Esta es una película que puede llegar a ser sencilla, puesto que Laberinto en llamas no intenta ser algo épica, sino un retrato de supervivencia pura y ver cómo cada día pueden ocurrir eventos como este y personas normales enfrentándose a algo que los supera. Por eso es perfecta para recordarnos que el heroísmo no siempre es espectacular, a veces es simplemente no rendirse. Así que es una película diferente, arriesgada y bastante efectiva, basada en hechos reales que te mantienen en una situación de ansiedad.
