Fear Street: Prom Queen
Hello friends who love movies and TV shows... It's been a long time since I last reviewed a movie in this community. This time I want to review a thriller movie that was recently released, and... for those of you who like watching thriller movies, you must be familiar with Fear Street, right? Yes, the Shadyside curse is back again. This Fear Street movie is titled Prom Queen. Let's get it!
The movie set in 1988... tells the story of several girls at Shadyside High School who are running for "Prom Queen". The entire school is busy preparing for Prom Night. Including Lori Granger, a student who is also a candidate for Prom Queen. Tiffany Falconer, Lori's neighbor who likes to bully her, is also running to become Prom Queen. In addition to the two of them, there are several other candidates who are all Tiffany's gang friends. One candidate is killed by someone in a red robe, but no one realizes it. Because he disappeared for two days, he was finally disqualified. Prom night arrives, the event is very lively and everyone looks very happy. But one by one the Prom Queen and King candidates disappear. One by one they become victims of murder by the man in the red robe until only two candidates are left, Lori and Tiffany. Lori was almost killed, but her best friend saved her. The man in the red robe continued to chase Lori even to the stage when Lori was crowned Prom Queen. The event was really chaotic, but finally Lori injured the killer's eye. The killer was finally caught, it turned out he was Dan Falconer, Tiffany's father. Is it over? of course not... Lori still has to fight against another killer until the end. Who is the other killer? I suggest you watch it yourself on netfix because I don't want too many spoilers hehehe...
My review of the movie
First, I like the cinematography. They made it seem like it was in 1988. Then in terms of the story, from the beginning I really enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the story about adolescence, competition and love. Lori Granger as the main character looks so weak at the beginning, but at the end she becomes someone brave. The murder scene also looks realistic. This movie is good in my opinion, but to be honest I prefer the previous Fear Street movies. I can feel the fear more in the previous movies. But that doesn't mean this movie is not recommended to watch. Actually this movie is good, it's just that there are some scenes that I think are a bit lacking. For example, at the end of the story the police look weak because they let someone dangerous go and let Lori's life be threatened.
