Flight Risk : "Amenaza en el aire"

Hola amigos y amigas amantes del cine, es un placer saludarles y regresar por la comunidad con una nueva reseña cinematográfica. En esta nueva entrada les hablaré de una película que estuve viendo esta mañana. Se trata de Flight Risk, una cinta estrenada en este año y dirigida nada más y nada menos que por el actor y director de cine, Mel Gibson. Estamos ante un thriller de acción de tema claustrofóbico, ambientado en un pequeño avión que se adentra en los cielos de Alaska, abordado solo por tres pasajeros.

Hello friends and film lovers, it's a pleasure to greet you and come back to the community with a new film review. In this new entry I will talk about a film I was watching this morning. It is Flight Risk, a film released this year and directed by none other than the actor and film director, Mel Gibson. It is an action thriller with a claustrophobic theme, set in a small plane that flies into the Alaskan skies, boarded by only three passengers.

Un piloto con oscuros secretos, una valiente detective y el testigo de un caso importante. Quienes son los encargados de prepararnos la receta de la acción, para este viaje intenso de regreso. Sin embargo, tras ver la película, mi impresión es que, aunque tiene momentos entretenidos, no logra alcanzar ese estrellato que la coloque como una película digna de ser recordada. Aquí va mi opinión para la comunidad de Movies y TV Shows, en Hive, sobre la película "Flight Risk".

A pilot with dark secrets, a brave detective and the witness of an important case. They are the ones in charge of preparing the action recipe for this intense return journey. However, after watching the film, my impression is that, although it has some entertaining moments, it fails to achieve the stardom that would make it a film worth remembering. Here is my opinion for the Movies and TV Shows community on Hive about the movie "Flight Risk".

Comencemos con la historia, que nos presenta a Madolyn Harris (Dockery), una decidida marshal que escolta a Winston (Grace), un contador que ha traicionado a la mafia y es llamado a testificar ante un jurado en Nueva York. Ambos, para llegar a su destino, tienen que abordar un pequeño avión piloteado por Daryl (Wahlberg), un tipo bastante excéntrico y algo pesado, con un acento extraño que pronto revela no ser quien dice.

Let's start with the story, which introduces us to Madolyn Harris (Dockery), a determined marshal who escorts Winston (Grace), an accountant who has betrayed the mob and is called to testify before a jury in New York. To reach their destination, the two have to board a small plane piloted by Daryl (Wahlberg), a rather eccentric and rather heavy-set guy with a strange accent who soon reveals he is not who he says he is.

El legendario actor Wahlberg, parece sentirse a su gusto interpretando a este villano desquiciado, siendo su energía desbordante lo más atractivo en la película, sin lugar a dudas. Mientras que, por otro lado, Dockery cumple con su parte de la trama como la dura oficial en el cumplimiento del deber. Pero que, a su vez, también es una mujer vulnerable, considero que el personaje estuvo algo forzado y no escampa a decisiones cuestionables.

The legendary actor, Wahlberg, seems at ease playing this unhinged villain, his boundless energy being the most appealing thing in the film, without a doubt. Dockery, on the other hand, plays her part in the plot as the tough officer in the line of duty. But who, at the same time, is also a vulnerable woman, I felt that the character was somewhat forced and does not escape questionable decisions.

Grace, por su parte, le aporta su toque de humor ligero a este trágico percance, como el testigo nervioso en medio de todo aquello, pero sus chistes lanzados a ráfagas, logran romper la tensión en momentos clave de la película. Muy aparte de alguna que otra vulnerabilidad en la historia, con un guion que podía darnos un poco más, vale también destacar la dirección de Gibson. Quien logra capturar la claustrofobia del avión, aunque hay que decir también que el suspenso, de cierta manera, tambalea, en una película que había arrancado bastante bien inicialmente.

Grace, for her part, brings a touch of light humour to this tragic mishap, as the nervous bystander in the middle of it all, but her jokes, delivered in bursts, manage to break the tension at key moments in the film. Quite apart from the occasional vulnerability in the story, with a script that could have given us a little more, it is also worth noting Gibson's direction. He manages to capture the claustrophobia of the plane, although it must also be said that the suspense, in a way, falters in a film that had started off quite well initially.

De los efectos especiales ni hablemos, tal parece una película filmada con un anímico presupuesto o que simplemente, a medio camino, se les agotaron las ideas. Sin embargo, con solo 91 minutos de película, "Flight Risk" no aburre, al menos no del todo para los que busquen algo ligero y casual. Este no es para nada un regreso triunfal para Mel Gibson, en su carrera como director de cine, pero a pesar de todo, estamos ante un gran director. Si buscas disfrutar de un poco de acción, sin estándares tan elevados, entonces te recomiendo Flight Risk, aunque no esperes un paseo inolvidable.

The special effects don't even come close, it looks like a film shot on a shoestring budget or that they simply ran out of ideas halfway through. However, at only 91 minutes, Flight Risk is not boring, at least not for those looking for something light and casual. This is by no means a triumphant return for Mel Gibson in his career as a film director, but a great director nonetheless. If you're looking for a bit of action without the high standards, then I recommend Flight Risk, though don't expect an unforgettable ride.
