Dexter: New Blood (2021) Series Review

2 days ago i realised that one of my favorite series out there has more to offer. Dexter is one of the most well known series out there that has 8 seasons, aired in 2006 and ended in 2013. I will tell a bit more about the plot but not any specific details as i don't want to make any big spoilers but eventually i will have to, so bear that in mind.

So, in general, the Dexter series follows Dexter Morgan a blood spatter analyst who works for the Miami PD. His stepsister also works as a policeman there and in general his stepdad was a well-known cop in the department, so basically the kids follows their footsteps.

Dexter has a secret though and that secret is that he is a serial killer who can't stop killing people. Harry, his dad, found out since Dexter was young and because he loved him, he tried to use his "need" to do, let's say, some good. So he invented a "code" that would help Dexter with his need and to avoid getting caught. Basically, he will kill only the bad guys and only after he has proof that they are actually bad guys.

Fast forward to 2013 and the end of the 8 season, a lot of things happened, including the death of his sister Debra and Dexter carrying her body, throwing it in the sea and disappearing in a storm with his boat, presumably dying.

10 years later and continuing with the Dexter New Blood series, which has 10 episodes in total, we see Dexter alive in upstate New York in a small town full of snow and a few people going by the name Jim. There he is, trying to live a carefree life, he has a girlfriend, the Chief of the police there and he is working as a store employee in a hunting equipment shop. He also has 10 years to kill anyone due to the death of his beloved sister.

Things are taking a sudden turn of events when his son Harrison comes to this small town to find him. Is he the same as Dexter? Is he a normal Kid? You will see for yourself. At the same time, though there is another serial killer lurking in that small town!

Good or Bad?

Honestly speaking, that mini-series was good. I liked that i saw Dexter again and some older actors and i also liked to see him doing, let's say a new beginning. Also the setting in that small town is pretty good and all the actors are doing an amazing job.

Something that also caught my attention is the fact that they made Dexter a bit sloppy something i really like,d as it is natural having 10 years to focus on killing, covering his trail and such. Harisson was a nice addition to the roster i would say.

Honestly, that's an easy 7.5/10 for me and btw, the people who didn't like the last a episode are hardcore groopies or something so give me a break :P There is also a brand new series that is currently airing, 6 out of 10 episodes are out, with unique story and casting and ofc the one and only Dexter Morgan! When it is completed i will make another review post!
