My 3 Favorite Deaths From Final Destination Franchise
As the sixth Final Destination franchise is coming to the cinemas, I want to share my favorite death scenes with you. I decided to rewatch Ms.Mojo's scenes ranking, but most didn't leave an impact. Just a fun fact: it is one of my favorite horror franchises. Yet, I didn't watch the entire movie because I was already spoiled and knew each character's fate. All I just watched was a series of clips. I hate to admit I was scared of this movie as a kid. But now I am already a young adult, I realize how they are least likely to happen. I never said it is impossible, but there's still a tiny chance. Without further ado, let's get started.
1. Valerie Lewton's Death - Final Destination 1
Valerie Lewton's death is the best scene for me, and no one can change my mind. Maybe it could change after the release of the sixth season. It is the scene where Valerie's mug cracked for eerie reasons, and she unconsciously went on her old computer. It immediately exploded while she was holding her cracked mug before the computer. The shattered screen from the equipment pierced through her neck, which triggered their signature "sequences."
The sequence of her death is the most terrifying and brutal, in my opinion. After that incident, the fire started to ignite her computer, and the fire traveled through the drip of the alcoholic drink. When she was about to get a towel at the bottom of the kitchen knives, she accidentally stabbed herself. For me, it's the most terrifying death. I remember watching this scene from HD on my neighbor, and how she led on that tragic event was so detailed.
2. Ashley and Ashlyn Death - Final Destination 3
The second from my list is their death. They might be the most iconic duo from the franchise, and they even said that they have the most brutal deaths. Nevertheless, they are only second on my list. You probably have heard this scene on various social platforms since it is iconic. I also watched a clip in which someone faced a similar fate in this iconic scene. It may also be why you don't want to enter a tanning machine.
In this excerpt, the two girls became trapped in the tanning machine. One brought a drink inside the room, and the condensed water dripped from the machine. I understand this movie's logic since as the air temperature gets hotter in the room, the cold drink condenses. This phase causes the machine to malfunction and leads them to burn and melt alive. The sequence of their death is their signature, perhaps.
P.S. I have watched an alternate scene where one of them managed to get outside the tanning bed. Then, she managed to help her friend escape being trapped, but they ended up electrocuting each other.
3. Logging Truck Disaster - Final Destination 2
Among all the premonitions in the movie franchise, this is my favorite. The log truck is the leading cause of chaos in Final Destination 2. It is my favorite among all the franchises since it is the most terrifying and realistic. It was the most discussed premonition in all social media despite the twenty years that have passed. Although the sequence is overacting, it still gives me chills, as it might happen in real life. How about you? What is your favorite?
How did I say that it is likely possible?
When I was a kid, I remember watching the news about an unfortunate accident where the whole family was crushed alive by a mixer truck. The news was widespread across all news media outlets. I also remember that my classmate died in a road accident because his head was crushed by a pipe truck. After that incident, my friends and I can't still move on. We argued that it wouldn't have happened if he had overtaken the left instead of the right side at that time. It's a bit creepy that his last share on Facebook is about being safe when driving. That's why I won't be interested in driving motorcycles.
How did I choose the ranking?
I chose those three deaths because they are my most iconic scenes, not because of peer opinions. I am not a hardcore horror fan, but these scenes impacted my daily living. Imagine feeling uneasy when you see a pile of logs on the truck. I also feel scared sometimes when I am the only one in my house. Being burnt alive is also something that I don't want to pic.
How about other franchises?
I didn't pick any from Final Destination 4 and Final Destination 5 since it doesn't look much scary. For instance, in FD4, I am still figuring out why they put flammable materials on the back of the cinemas. It was the scene where the main character was crushed in the escalator. Is it for the plot or what? Same on FD5 as well. I also don't know why they leave their patient unattended by the ophthalmologist. If they perform those types of hazardous treatment, they should have at least an assistant.
That's my only take on this blog.
