Yo siempre he sido una persona que no está muy a favor de las secuelas sobretodo cuando las primeras partes terminan siendo espectaculares. Pasa también que hay películas que probablemente no necesitaban una continuación y cuando estas llegan pues el resultado no es tan esperado. Esto pasó con Sisu, un film que en lo personal me impresionó en su entrega inicial pero que en la segunda parte no cumplió tanto con las expectativas que tenía cosa que da bronca porque a mi parecer no hacía falta extender la historia pero puedo entender el por qué lo hicieron. Ver a una persona matar nazis de la manera como lo hizo este señor es probablemente de las cosas más satisfactorias que hay así que decidieron repetir la fórmula pero esta vez con comunistas soviéticos.

I've always been someone who isn't a big fan of sequels, especially when the first installments are so spectacular. It also happens that some films probably didn't need a sequel, and when they do arrive, the result isn't what I expected. This happened with Sisu, a film that personally impressed me in its initial release, but the second part didn't quite live up to my expectations, which is frustrating because, in my opinion, there was no need to extend the story. However, I can understand why they did it. Watching someone kill Nazis the way this guy did is probably one of the most satisfying things there is, so they decided to repeat the formula, but this time with Soviet communists.

Para los que no lo saben tenemos a Aatami Korpi, un ex fuerzas especiales de Finlandia que es una verdadera leyenda entre los que lo conocen por su capacidades militares y de resiliencia. En esta película vemos como él regresa a la casa en donde su familia pierde la vida buscando comenzar de cero pero su pasado lo persigue y ahora resulta que un comandante del ejército rojo, el mismo que mató a los suyos, lo está siguiendo para terminar el trabajo. También puede que haya un poco de miedo de dejarlo con vida, de ahí la decisión en parte querer acabarlo definitivamente. A partir de acá da inicio a una persecución llena de una violencia desmedida y una acción que si, que es muy adictiva de ver.

For those who don't know, we have Aatami Korpi, a former Finnish special forces operative who is a true legend among those who know him for his military skills and resilience. In this film, we see him return to the house where his family lost their lives, seeking a fresh start. But his past haunts him, and now it turns out that a Red Army commander, the same one who killed his family, is tracking him down to finish the job. There might also be some fear involved in leaving him alive, hence the decision, in part, to want to eliminate him completely. From here begins a chase filled with excessive violence and action that is, yes, highly addictive to watch.

Nos ubicamos en la Finlandia de 1946 con la URSS dominando gran parte de Europa. Pareciera que las personas que estuvieron detrás de esta película sabían lo que le puede gustar a la gente y repitieron la receta pero esta vez aniquilando a soldados soviéticos. Este tipo de films no tienen una trama muy elaborada ya que todo se mueve en torno a la venganza, ese es el motor del protagonista, no hay más. Incluso cuando su vida pende de un hilo saca fuerza de maneras inexplicables para lograr seguir adelante. Al final es pura fuerza bruta en donde la supervivencia se vuelve muy necesaria.

We find ourselves in Finland in 1946, with the USSR dominating much of Europe. It seems the people behind this film knew what audiences liked and repeated the formula, but this time annihilating Soviet soldiers. These kinds of films don't have a very elaborate plot, as everything revolves around revenge; that's the protagonist's driving force, nothing more. Even when his life hangs by a thread, he finds strength in inexplicable ways to keep going. In the end, it's pure brute force where survival becomes absolutely essential.

Como es de esperarse la película es muy gráfica, la sangre en cantidades industriales no falta, las escenas en donde la creatividad hace presencia a la hora de mostrar una muerte tampoco fallan y es que para que esto funcione tiene que ser vistosa, tiene que impresionar al punto de llegar a ser hasta grotesco ver los enfrentamientos. Si todo se ve bien personalmente disfruto mucho estas películas y en este caso el apartado visual cumple, por lo menos entretiene. Ahora, si me preguntan les diría que la primera película me gustó bastante más. Creo que por lo novedosa que fue. Siento que en este film esa sorpresa se pierde un poco porque uno conoce la naturaleza del personaje.

As expected, the film is very graphic; there's no shortage of blood in industrial quantities, and the scenes where creativity shines through in depicting death are also present. For this to work, it has to be visually striking, it has to impress to the point of being almost grotesque to watch the confrontations. If everything looks good, I personally enjoy these kinds of films a lot, and in this case, the visual aspect delivers; at the very least, it's entertaining. Now, if you ask me, I'd say I liked the first film much more. I think it's because of its novelty. I feel that in this film, that surprise is somewhat lost because you already know the character's nature.

Pero ojo, aquello no quita lo espectacular que termina resultando todo, hay escenas que están muy bien logradas y es que, a quien no le gusta ver a alguien lograr poco a poco cobrar la venganza tan anhelada explotando aviones, motos y tanques? - la venganza es adictiva y satisfactoria, de ahí la aceptación que tienen estos films en el público. En cuanto a los personajes no hay mucho que decir, solo hay 2 protagonistas, el bueno y el malo y todo se resume en ellos. Hay que mencionar que Aatami no habla, no porque sea mudo sino porque asumo que es producto de todo lo que ha vivido. Él es una persona de 66 años, consideren eso cuando vean su físico y todas las peleas que lleva a cabo.

But make no mistake, that doesn't detract from how spectacular the whole thing ends up being. There are some very well-executed scenes, and who doesn't enjoy watching someone slowly but surely exact their long-awaited revenge by blowing up planes, motorcycles, and tanks? Revenge is addictive and satisfying, hence the popularity of these films. As for the characters, there isn't much to say; there are only two protagonists, the good guy and the bad guy, and everything revolves around them. It's worth mentioning that Aatami doesn't speak, not because he's mute, but because I assume it's a result of everything he's been through. He's 66 years old; keep that in mind when you see his physique and all the fights he's involved in.

Es una película meramente de entretenimiento, de acción y violencia pura y dura. No es un mal film pero vuelvo y repito, me gustó más el primero. Con todo y eso le doy un 8/10, vale bastante la pena sentarse a verla. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo.

It's purely an entertainment film, full of action and raw violence. It's not a bad film, but I'll say it again, I liked the first one better. Even so, I give it an 8/10; it's definitely worth watching. I've included the trailer below.

La primera película me gusto mucho, me pareció un bombazo !

Esta l tengo ya lista para ver, pero no he tenido tiempo!!! la única que pude ver hace un par de días fue Núremberg, pero a Sisu 2 le tengo mucha ganas , pero se me acumularon muchas nuevas de golpe, a ver si saco tiempo estos últimos días del año.
