A clear example of what not to do. The critics (who, in my opinion, are paid) who praise this miniseries are really first-rate sycophants. I understand that there are tastes for all audiences and, of course, there will be people who, when consuming this miniseries, may like it, but those praises that come from professionals who write on major websites. Damn, it leaves a lot to be desired, and that's why I don't pay much attention to those gods of criticism. I prefer to read posts by random people like me who write what they feel about movies and series.

The lesson I take away from watching this story is that I will never again watch anything created by Megan Gallagher. By the way, I don't know if it's the same Megan who is an actress, but I think it's another Megan. I don't want to see anything else from this screenwriter, because with this miniseries I have found myself watching a soap opera disguised as a thriller.

Eight unbearable episodes. This is unforgivable. It's a story designed to waste the viewer's time. The most decent part is the first episode, which starts right away with the central conflict, but what comes next is a parade of unbearable, stupid, and boring characters who don't stand out. I only watched it because Sarah Snook won the Critics Choice Award for this production. Her performance is up to par; in fact, she's too good an actress for this mess. She stands out because she's a good actress, but even so, as a terrible actor myself, I think I would stand out more alongside the rest of the cast, which is the most bland I've seen in a while.

The worst part is that Dakota Fanning also works here in a wasted role that ultimately doesn't matter at all. I understand that her sister Elle Fanning is better known today and more successful, but Dakota was also a child star with a bright future, and I've liked her as an actress since her beginnings, and here they really give her a character who is involved in the story, but I don't give a damn about her life.

The screenwriter and creator wants to convey a feminist message, portraying the men in these two women's lives as selfish, concerned only with themselves, who do not help their wives and instead reproach them, etc. Here, the good man is the Latino police officer, of course, the epitome of goodness. They even add an episode in which we see what a good father and husband he is, but it is an unnecessary family drama for the conflict and resolution of the story, just annoying filler.

It is difficult to feel sympathy for characters who are also all pretentious, because they are rich, full of privileges, and their stress comes from not knowing which coffee to choose at Starbucks.

The disappearance of the child and the desire to add plot twists, mystery, not knowing who is behind it, the motives, etc., all lack emotion. But we'll leave the worst for last, when the motives for the child's kidnapping are explained, who the woman behind it really is. Something totally absurd.

El guionista y creadora quiere transmitir un mensaje feminista, retratando a los hombres en la vida de estas dos mujeres como egoístas, preocupados solo por sí mismos, que no ayudan a sus esposas y, en cambio, las reprochan, etc. Aquí, el hombre bueno es el policía latino, por supuesto, el epítome de la bondad. Incluso añaden un episodio en el que vemos lo buen padre y marido que es, pero es un drama familiar innecesario para el conflicto y la resolución de la historia, solo un relleno molesto.

Es difícil sentir simpatía por unos personajes que además son todos pretenciosos, porque son ricos, están llenos de privilegios y su estrés proviene de no saber qué café elegir en Starbucks.

La desaparición del niño y el deseo de añadir giros argumentales, misterio, no saber quién está detrás, los motivos, etc., todo eso carece de emoción. Pero dejaremos lo peor para el final, cuando se explican los motivos del secuestro del niño, quién es realmente la mujer que está detrás. Algo totalmente absurdo.
