It premiered a few days ago on Netflix, the platform that generates both love and hate. What motivated me to give it a chance were its stars, Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson. If it weren't for them leading this story, I wouldn't have bothered to watch a single minute. I first saw the trailer and realized that it has that look that all Netflix series have. It's that feeling that all of their original productions seem to use the same cinematographer, because they all look the same. I don't know if it's just me or if others have that feeling too.

That detail gave me a bad feeling, but when I looked it up on the Internet and saw that it was an adaptation of one of those books they call best sellers, although that's not synonymous with being a good product, because sometimes those best-selling books are complete trash. But still, with these two actors in the lead roles, it could be something decent to watch.

Without being anything extraordinary, I at least found it entertaining. A thriller with murders to solve, where the protagonists are also the main suspects. I liked how they played with us, the viewers, making us suspect both of them. Another thing I appreciate is that it only has six episodes, which I thought was wonderful. I'm tired of watching some series or miniseries that are torture, whose premise doesn't go any further, and all they do is drag out the episodes with unnecessary nonsense. This one is short, and six episodes are enough.

The story takes place in a town called Dahlonega, somewhere near Atlanta. Anna and Jack are married, but she left him quite some time ago after a family tragedy, which is revealed to us as the story progresses. He is a police detective and she is a famous television reporter who has taken a long break and her position is now filled by another beautiful reporter. When Rachel, an attractive woman married to a wealthy pizza entrepreneur, is murdered in the city, Anna sees an opportunity to regain her prestige and her position within the Atlanta news network. The problem is that the murdered woman was part of Anna's past and that of other characters in the story.
When they all attended the same prestigious school. Added to this is the fact that the victim liked to sleep with many men, including Jack, and everything becomes complicated, and we begin to suspect everyone.

The use of flashbacks is the device that will gradually shed light on the characters' pasts and the motive behind the murders that are being committed. Surprising revelations, new evidence, characters trying to cover their tracks—all of this makes the series quite entertaining, and of course, just when everything seems to be resolved, we are thrown a final surprise twist.

I liked it, but that doesn't mean that some situations didn't seem a little implausible to me, but it's that kind of thriller and I found it entertaining thanks to the two main characters, which is what makes you want to finish it. It's not something that will leave you speechless and stick in your memory, but as a product of entertainment for the general public, I recommend it.

Se estrenó hace unos días en Netflix, la plataforma que genera amor y odio. Lo que me motivó a darle una oportunidad fueron sus protagonistas, Jon Bernthal y Tessa Thompson. Si no fuera por ellos liderando esta historia, no me habría molestado en ver ni un minuto. Primero vi el tráiler y me di cuenta de que tiene ese aspecto que tienen todas las series de Netflix. Es esa sensación de que todas sus producciones originales parecen utilizar al mismo director de fotografía, porque todas se ven iguales. No sé si soy solo yo o si otros también tienen esa sensación.

Ese detalle me dio mala espina, pero cuando lo busqué en Internet y vi que era una adaptación de uno de esos libros que llaman best sellers, aunque eso no es sinónimo de que sea un buen producto, porque a veces esos libros superventas son una auténtica basura. Pero aun así, con estos dos actores en los papeles principales, podría ser algo decente para ver.

Sin ser nada extraordinario, al menos me pareció un buen entretenimiento. Un thriller con asesinatos que resolver y donde los protagonistas son también los principales sospechosos. Me gustó que jueguen con nosotros, los espectadores, haciéndonos sospechar de ambos. Otra cosa que aprecio es que solo tiene seis episodios, lo cual me pareció maravilloso. Estoy cansado de ver algunas series o miniseries que son una tortura, cuya premisa no va más allá, y lo único que hacen es alargar los episodios con tonterías innecesarias. Esta es corta, y seis episodios son suficientes.

La historia tiene lugar en un pueblo llamado Dahlonega, en algún lugar cerca de Atlanta. Anna y Jack están casados, pero ella lo dejó hace bastante tiempo tras una tragedia familiar, que se nos revela a medida que avanza la historia. El uso de flashbacks es el recurso que poco a poco irá arrojando luz sobre el pasado de los personajes y el motivo detrás de los asesinatos que se están cometiendo. Revelaciones sorprendentes, nuevas pruebas, personajes que intentan borrar sus huellas, todo ello hace que la serie sea bastante entretenida y, por supuesto, cuando todo parece estar resuelto, nos lanzan un giro final sorpresa.

Me gustó, pero eso no significa que algunas situaciones no me parecieran un poco inverosímiles, pero es ese tipo de thriller y lo encontré entretenido gracias a los dos personajes principales, que es lo que te hace querer terminarlo. No es algo que te vaya a dejar boquiabierto y se te quede grabado en la memoria, pero como producto de entretenimiento para el gran público, lo recomiendo.
