I've seen a lot of reactions on Twitter since the release of this film, which for me serves as an epilogue and conclusion to the Peaky Blinders saga. I'm on the side of those who were satisfied. I liked the film, and its ending is tough, painful, but I think it was the right ending for Tommy Shelby's entire story.

It's impossible to please everyone. I've known that for a long time. I understand that some things can end unexpectedly, but time has taught me that you have to enjoy the process and accept the ending that the creators and writers offer us. In the end, they're the ones who decide.

This reminds me of many people who weren't happy with the ending of Lost. And let's not even talk about Game of Thrones. I prefer endings that provide complete closure for the protagonist, or for all of them, as was the case with Six Feet Under, which for me is a perfect ending. I like the film Peaky Blinders: Immortal Man. I like that they gave Tommy a dignified ending, and if they decide to make sequels with his son later on, so be it.

Among the dumbest complaints I saw on Twitter was that it's just a fan-pleasing movie. Seriously. What do these idiots expect? Peaky Blinders had six seasons with a solid fanbase. Who else are they making the movie for? Of course, the target audience is the fans. They're the core audience. Are new people who've never seen the series joining in? Sure, that's good. It all adds up, as they're reaching a new audience who can start watching the series from the first season. There's no denying the movie has been successful in terms of viewership on Netflix.

What I do understand is that the story feels a bit rushed. It's like one long episode that lacked depth, especially regarding the new characters. It would have been perfect if they'd made a five- or six-episode miniseries instead of a movie. I also think that Tim Roth, as the movie's villain, didn't quite live up to the antagonists of the previous seasons, but that's understandable; I was still willing to enjoy the story.

I saw criticism of Rebecca Ferguson's character. Stop complaining. They needed more well-known actors in the cast, and I love it. Others complained about how they handled Arthur's character. Look, the actor who played him in the series has problems with drugs and alcohol, just like his character. If someone else had played him, it would have been disappointing, so what they did was the best. Is it fair? Maybe not, but hey, life is full of injustices. Enjoy the story, period.

I'll see Tommy Shelby again, walking in his suit or on horseback, with those epic entrances, just like in the series. Tormented by everything that's happened, by all the deaths, yearning for the peace that seems to elude him. That ending is heartbreaking. It's definitely worth watching.

As I finished writing this post, I saw the news that Netflix has already confirmed a sequel, set ten years after the events of this film. The surprise is that Barry Keoghan will no longer be playing Duke; for the sequel, the actor chosen to play Duke Shelby and leader of the new Peaky Blinders is Jamie Bell. Will he live up to expectations? Wow, I think he's a good actor! I'm giving him my vote of confidence.

He visto muchas reacciones en Twitter desde el estreno de esta película, que para mí funciona como epílogo y conclusión de la saga Peaky Blinders. Estoy del lado de quienes quedaron satisfechos. Me gustó la película, y su final es duro, doloroso, pero creo que fue el final adecuado para toda la historia de Tommy Shelby.

Es imposible complacer a todo el mundo. Lo sé desde hace mucho tiempo. Entiendo que algunas cosas pueden terminar de forma inesperada, pero el tiempo me ha enseñado que hay que disfrutar del proceso y aceptar el final que nos ofrecen los creadores y guionistas. Al final, ellos son quienes deciden.

Esto me recuerda a mucha gente que no quedó contenta con el final de Lost. Y ni hablemos de Juego de Tronos. Prefiero los finales que brindan un cierre completo para el protagonista, o para todos ellos, como fue el caso de Six Feet Under, que para mí es un final perfecto. Me gusta la película Peaky Blinders: Immortal Man. Me gusta que le hayan dado a Tommy un final digno, y si deciden hacer secuelas con su hijo más adelante, que así sea.

Entre las quejas más tontas que vi en Twitter está la de que es solo una película para complacer a los fans. En serio. ¿Qué esperan estos idiotas? Peaky Blinders tuvo seis temporadas con una sólida base de fans. ¿Para quién más están haciendo la película? Claro, el público objetivo son los fans. Son el público principal. ¿Se están uniendo personas nuevas que nunca han visto la serie? Claro, eso es bueno. Todo eso suma, ya que están llegando a un público nuevo que puede empezar a ver la serie desde la primera temporada. No se puede negar que la película ha tenido éxito en cuanto a visualizaciones en Netflix.

Lo que sí entiendo es que la historia se siente un poco apresurada. Es como un episodio largo al que le faltó profundidad, especialmente en lo que respecta a los nuevos personajes. Hubiera sido perfecto si hubieran hecho una miniserie de cinco o seis episodios en lugar de una película. También creo que Tim Roth, como villano de la película, no estuvo a la altura de los antagonistas de las temporadas anteriores, pero es comprensible; yo igual estaba dispuesto a disfrutar de la historia.

Vi críticas al personaje interpretado por Rebecca Ferguson. Dejen de quejarse. Necesitaban actores más conocidos en el reparto, y me encanta. Otros se quejaban de cómo manejaron el personaje de Arthur. Miren, el actor que lo interpretó en la serie tiene problemas con las drogas y el alcohol, igual que su personaje. Si lo hubiera interpretado otra persona, habría sido decepcionante, así que lo mejor fue lo que hicieron. ¿Es justo? Quizás no, pero bueno, la vida está llena de injusticias. Disfruten de la historia, punto.

Volveré a ver a Tommy Shelby, caminando con su traje o a caballo, con esas entradas épicas, igual que en la serie. Atormentado por todo lo que ha pasado, por todas las muertes, anhelando la paz que parece escapársele. Ese final es desgarrador. Sin duda merece la pena verla.
