THE OA
Today I'm bringing you another series I recommend watching, especially if you like science fiction and things like magic, so to speak. This series actually covers more categories like drama, mystery, psychological thriller, and philosophy.
The OA is a Netflix original series, so you can find it there. It has two seasons, although the series itself was originally planned for five seasons, but it was canceled and ended at two, but it didn't end badly.
Hoy les traigo otra serie que recomiendo ver, en especial si te gusta la ciencia ficción y cosas como la magia por así decirlo, aunque esta serie realmente abarca más categorías como el drama, misterio, thriller psicológico y la filosofía.
The OA es una serie original de Netflix, así que la puedes encontrar ahí. Tiene 2 temporadas, aunque la serie en sí se pensó para 5 temporadas pero fue cancelada y quedaron en 2 temporadas pero no terminó mal.

The series begins with Prairie Johnson. She's been missing for seven years and suddenly reappears. Her parents locate her in a hospital, and their surprise is that she can now see, since she was once blind. I'd like to clarify that none of this is a spoiler because it's basically the synopsis, the introduction to the series.
La serie empieza con Prairie Johnson, ella había estado desaparecida por 7 años y de pronto aparece nuevamente, sus padres la localizan en un hospital y la sorpresa que se llevan es que ahora puede ver, ya que ella fue una niña ciega. Aclaro que nada de esto es un spoiler porque básicamente es la sinopsis, la presentación de la serie.

After Prairie returns to her parents, she doesn't want to mention anything about what happened, not even to the FBI. There's also the fact that Prairie calls herself "The OA." She does decide to tell her story, but only to five people. The story she tells seems very strange, impossible to believe, and beyond all logic. She also mentions that she has a mission and these five people must help her.
Prairie después que regresa con sus padres, no quiere mencionar nada de lo que pasó, ni siquiera al FBI. También está el hecho de que Prairie se llama a ella misma "The OA". En fin, ella sí decide contar su historia pero solamente a cinco personas, y la historia que ella cuenta es algo que parece muy extraño, imposible de creer, fuera de toda lógica y también comenta que ella tiene una misión y estas cinco personas deben ayudarla.

This series has a lot of science fiction in it. They also talk about multiverses, which I'm fascinated by. Near-death experiences are also discussed, although of course what we'll notice most here is that the focus is on all the traumatic experiences, all the pain this character has endured. Another thing that's quite noticeable in the series is the esoteric. This also makes me question a few things about my reality, especially because I've had unusual experiences throughout my life, and for this reason, I also found the series interesting.
The whole story feels very deep, and it's especially so when it involves human connections. At least in this world, they show that sincerely sharing everything you carry inside can change you and others. I recommend this series for people with a fairly open mind because, to be honest, if you have strong religious beliefs, you might not like it at all because it's so far from traditional. Esta serie tiene bastante ciencia ficción, también hablan de los multiversos, a mi este tema me fascina. También se habla de las experiencias cercanas a la muerte, aunque claro lo que más vamos a notar aquí es que el enfoque está en todas las experiencias traumáticas, todo el dolor que este personaje ha vivido. Otra cosa que se ve bastante en la serie es lo esotérico, esto también me hace cuestionarme un par de cosas de mi realidad, en especial porque sí he tenido experiencias poco comunes a lo largo de mi vida y por este motivo también se me hizo interesante la serie.
Toda la historia se siente como algo realmente profundo y se siente bastante cuando involucran las conexiones humanas, por lo menos en este mundo muestran que compartir sinceramente todo lo que llevas por dentro hace que cause un cambio en ti y también en las otras personas. Yo recomiendo esta serie para las personas con una mente bastante abierta porque para ser honesta si tienes fuertes creencias religiosas, quizás no te guste para nada porque se sale mucho de lo tradicional. ¿Ustedes ya vieron esta serie o la tienen en su lista?.
Wow, what great memories you brought back with The OA! It's one of those shows you either love or just don't understand, there's no middle ground, haha. And I definitely loved it. You perfectly described that feeling of not knowing what to believe. Throughout the entire first season, you're left wondering if what Prairie is saying is real or if it's all a product of her trauma. That mind game is brilliant.
I totally agree with you; it's one to watch with a very open mind. It touches on very deep themes in a way no other show has dared to. And I still can't get over its cancellation! It's one of the cancellations that has hurt me the most. Excellent post!
