I watched a Smallville episode and I can say that this is one of the funniest superhero TV shows I've seen in a long time. The show Smallville goes against most superhero shows, despite their action-based and special power themes; it tells the tale of a young Clark Kent, before he develops his superpowers. It depicts his dilemmas, relationships, family life and difficulties of growing up with great responsibility.

Clark Kent attempts to live a normal life in the small town of Smallville, where his extra-ordinary powers are expected to cause trouble. Throughout the series he finds himself in situations that he has to deal with, and struggles to understand himself and his life's purpose. I found what I loved the most to be the character development of Clark. In the process of becoming Superman, the audience sees his development step-by-step. This added authenticity and emotion to the story.

The thing that is strongest about Smallville is its characters. Clark is kind, humble and always strives to do the right thing, even when it is hard. He has a great relationship with his parents as they are wise and loving. I also liked to see his friendships and the not so friendly relationship with Lex Luthor. Their friendship begins strong but as the series goes on, it's one of the most intriguing aspects of the show.

The acting is quite good in the show. The cast is very strong, bringing the characters to life. Emotional scenes are authentic and the actors make the viewer feel concern for each character. As the series went on I became attached to many of them.

I liked the way it was a balance between action and emotion. There are moments of exciting use of Clark's powers but many moments that focus on the family, friendship, trust and personal growth. This equilibrium makes the show enjoyable for more than just comic book enthusiasts.

The visual effects aren't quite as sophisticated as those found in today's superhero films, but for the time it was created, they are still pretty cool. It's also the music and the atmosphere that makes it a fun experience that makes viewers want to tune in to the episodes as well.

The special thing about Smallville is the message it’s sending. It is a reminder that the true spirit of heroism is not solely about power in the series. It's about taking right decisions, providing help and being true to values. Clark's experience demonstrates that it takes time, patience and character to be a hero.

Overall, I had a lot of fun watching Smallville. It isn't just a superhero tale; it's a tale about being a child, discovering yourself, and learning how to utilize your talents for good. Memorable characters, engaging story telling and a lasting emotional impact!

My Rating: 9/10 ⭐

I would recommend Smallville to anyone who loves superhero stories, family drama, friendship and inspiring character development. It is a series that is fun and meaningful to watch even years after its original broadcast.
