🎬 What Happens in Vegas (2008) | Movie Review

Why not?
It is 2026 but yesterday I went back to 2008, and I had so much fun, even if it lasted only for 1h 30 minutes!,

Even though the movie What Happens in Vegas is not exactly a new release, and I’m pretty sure I’ve watched it at some point in the past, I really needed something fresh, light, and pleasant yesterday.

And somehow, this movie felt like the perfect choice for that kind of mood.

A man and a woman are compelled, for legal reasons, to live life as a couple for a limited period of time. At stake is a large amount of money.

As a genre, it is a feel-good and romantic comedy.

The story is simple but fun: two completely different people, Joy and Jack (loved the names :)), both dealing with personal issues, end up in Las Vegas, get drunk, and you are not going to believe it wake up married.

Things get even crazier when something really unexpected happens and ... I cannot say much more because this would become a spoiler.

What you need to keep in mind is that they go through a number of different adventures as they try to persuade everyone that they should not be together, and the ending comes naturally to leave you that 'good feeling'

When it comes to the cast, Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher are just what you expected.

Their chemistry is natural, playful, and perhaps even the reason why the movie was so much fun.
The other actors are really a great addition and I personally enjoyed the little (but vital) role of Galyfianakis (a Greek-American actor that I find really funny)

The movie is exactly what you expect from a romantic comedy.
Not deep meanings, no complicated issues (well, maybe a few), but a classic rom-com that proves the fact that opposites attract, with lots of nice situations in between.

What I liked the most is how pleasant it was to watch (or for me to rewatch after some years)
You follow the flow and let the film entertain you and make you smile.

Overall, it’s a really nice choice for a movie night with friends, or even when you just want to lift your mood after a long day.

The imdb rating is 6.1/10 and I would totally agree.
This will not be our unforgettable and super amazing movie, but some of them are just there to lift your mood and make you smile.

And the movie, for me, did its part.
