En el día de hoy paso por acá para hablarles de una película que ví recién y que me llamo mucho la tensión pues la verdad nos pone a reflexionar, les hablo del filme español "53 domingos" estrenada este mismo y dirigida por Cesc Gay.

"53 domingos", la nueva película española estrenada en Netflix el 27 de marzo de este año, es una comedia dramática íntima que dura apenas 78 minutos. El filme se desarrolla casi en su totalidad en un espacio reducido, o sea en un piso familiar, lo que acentúa su carácter teatral sin que eso reste dinamismo. Gay, en esta película nos muestra su maestría en el manejo de diálogos afilados, conflictos emocionales y un humor ácido que desarma al espectador.

La trama de esta cinta gira en torno a tres hermanos cincuentones, Julián papel que interpreta Javier Gutiérrez, Víctor papel realizado por Javier Cámara y Natalia papel interpretado por Carmen Machi, dónde los tres intentan reunirse para decidir el futuro de su padre de 86 años, un hombre que comienza a mostrar signos de demencia senil y problemas de comportamiento.

Lo que debería ser una reunión civilizada para discutir opciones como una residencia o que viva con alguno de ellos se convierte en un caos de desencuentros, reproches y verdades incómodas. Alexandra Jiménez interpreta a Carol, la esposa de Julián, quien actúa como narradora rompiendo la cuarta pared con ironía y mala leche, guiando al público por las miserias familiares.

El guion de esta película brilla en su capacidad para construir tensión a partir de lo cotidiano. Los intentos fallidos de reunión, donde siempre falta alguien, sirven para presentar individualmente a los personajes y sus dinámicas. Cuando por fin coinciden los tres hermanos, la película explota en fraces verbales llenas de pullas, complejos de inferioridad, prepotencia y resentimientos acumulados durante décadas.

El título de la misma, hace referencia a la novelita jajaja, que se menciona en la misma y que uno de ellos ha escrito, titulada precisamente "53 domingos", y que simboliza los pequeños momentos de convivencia, o ausencia, que marcan una familia. Gay no resuelve grandes dramas, ya que prefiere mostrar cómo el cuidado de un progenitor anciano revela egoísmos, desigualdades en la carga emocional y económica, y la dificultad de asumir responsabilidades cuando todos tienen sus propias vidas.

El reparto es, sin duda, el gran pilar de la cinta. Javier Gutiérrez, Carmen Machi y Javier Cámara forman un trío que funciona como un mecanismo de relojería, bien engranado, sus diálogos suenan naturales, crueles y divertidos al mismo tiempo. Machi aporta la responsabilidad exagerada y el cinismo, Cámara, el personaje más acomodado y evasivo, y Gutiérrez, la frustración del actor de medio pelo. Jiménez destaca rompiendo la convención teatral y aportando frescura. Sus interpretaciones elevan un material que, en manos menos hábiles, podría haber caído en lo forzado o melodramático. La química entre ellos hace que las discusiones resulten creíbles y, sobre todo, reconocibles.

Visualmente, Gay opta por una puesta en escena sencilla pero efectiva, se ven planos que recorren el piso, movimientos de cámara que siguen las discusiones y un uso inteligente del espacio para generar claustrofobia y comedia física. La ligereza inicial, da paso a una densidad emocional en el tramo final, sin perder nunca el tono de comedia ligera con fondo amargo. No hay grandes giros ni resoluciones, ya que la película se conforma con exponer las grietas de una familia normal y dejar que el espectador reflexione sobre su propia experiencia.

"53 domingos" no reinventa el cine familiar, pero lo hace con inteligencia, economía narrativa y un humor muy español. Es una de esas películas cortas que se disfrutan de un tirón y que, sin pretensiones, toca temas universales como el envejecimiento de los padres, el reparto desigual de cuidados y cómo los lazos fraternales resisten o no bajo presión. Algunos críticos han señalado que los diálogos pueden sonar algo teatrales al inicio, pero el excelente trabajo actoral y el ritmo compensan con creces cualquier reparo.

En resumen amigos, "53 domingos" es una pequeña gran joya de Cesc Gay, ya que es bien entretenida, incómoda cuando debe serlo y profundamente humana. Es recomendada fundamentalmente para quienes aprecian el cine de conversaciones, las familias disfuncionales y las reflexiones agridulces sobre la vida adulta. Sin lugar a dudas es una comedia que hace reír reconociendo verdades que muchos preferirían ignorar, y además nos hace reflexionar. Yo por mi parte me despido de ustedes hasta la próxima peli.
