How are you all? I hope everyone is well. Today I took some time to share my feelings about Greenland 2: Migration (2026). After watching the movie, I felt that it was not just another disaster movie. There is a strange suppressed pain in it, and there is also a desire to survive.

I saw the first Greenland a long time ago. I liked it at the time because it did not just show destruction, but the story revolved around a family. So when I saw the second part, I had a question in my mind - what will they show this time? The same thing again or something really new?

After the movie started, I gradually understood that this time they did not want to show just a story of escaping from danger. This time, they showed how people survive after the danger passes. This place seemed different to me.

Gerard Butler has adapted as before in the role of John Garrity. Looking at him, it seemed that this man had all the responsibility on his shoulders. Strong on the outside, tired on the inside. The pressure of keeping the family alive can be understood on his face. In some scenes, his silent acting spoke more.

I also liked the character of Allison. In many movies, the female character is just kept on the sidelines, but that wasn't the case here. She felt needed. She maintained the balance within the family.

Nathan has grown up compared to before, and that is reflected in the character. He doesn't just fear like a small child; he now understands a lot. His presence has brought emotion to the story.

Not to mention the atmosphere of the movie. The ruined world around him, the empty space, the cold atmosphere—all of it created a silent fear. Watching some scenes, it seemed like the world was alive, but the old world was gone.

There is action, but not just action. Running, escaping, danger—along with all this, there is also the pressure to make decisions. Who to trust, where to go, who to take—these things made the story good.

However, not everything is perfect. In some parts, it felt a little rushed. A few characters could have been used better. Some scenes ended too quickly.

Still, the movie wasn't bad. On the contrary, I watched it with interest until the end. Because the story had a desire not only to survive, but to start over.

IMDb rating 5.2/10, 48% Rotten Tomatoes, Release date January 9, 2026 (USA). If I had my own rating, I would give it 7.8/10.

Friends, all in all, Greenland 2: Migration seems like a movie that you should not only watch with your eyes, but also feel a little bit. If you liked this movie, if you liked the first part, then you shouldn't be disappointed after watching this one. To me, it seems more of a family story than a survival story. Be sure to let me know how you liked it.

Lately, I've been getting into post-apocalyptic movies, and I think I'll add this one to my list. Thanks for the recommendation.

This is a film that IMO didn't need to be made and most people were unaware there even WAS a first one. It lost a ton of money and was kind of a dumb gamble on the part of the studios. SOmetimes I think the executives are a bunch of monkeys hitting random buttons for their decision-making.
