Stranger Things | Season 5 - Review VOL1 & VOL2 [ES - EN]

Después de varias semanas y a causa de mi completa atención, primeramente por "It: Welcome to Derry" y después por los acontecimientos de mi país, por fin decidí ver la temporada final de lo que considero es la producción que captó la completa atención hacia Netflix y es que no hay que obviar que "Stranger Things", fue un completo acontecimiento en dónde sus creadores, Matt y Ross Duffer, usaron e implementaron la Cultura Pop de los ochenta en un historia que relata la historia primeramente de niños y después adolescentes, enfrentando aventuras llenas de ciencia-ficción, terror, suspenso, drama y romance.

After several weeks and due to my complete attention, first to "It: Welcome to Derry" and then to the events in my country, I finally decided to watch the final season of what I consider to be the production that captured Netflix's complete attention. It cannot be ignored that "Stranger Things" was a complete phenomenon in which its creators, Matt and _** Ross Duffer** used and implemented 1980s pop culture in a story that tells the tale of children and then teenagers facing adventures full of science fiction, horror, suspense, drama, and romance.

Después de esperar mucho tiempo, por fin se llevó a cabo el estreno de la quinta y última temporada de Stranger Things que en esta ocasión se decidió dividir los episodios en dos volúmenes y dejar todo para el gran final; en esta publicación haré reseña primeramente de dos volúmenes que están conformados por una primera tanda de 4 episodios y la última de 3. Personalmente no presente mucho interés por la nueva y última temporada de esta serie, ya que creo que no había nada más que se pudiera contar y tan solo quedaba esperar al enfrentamiento final entre este grupo de amigos y un poderoso villano; para mí sorpresa si había algún que otro evento y relevancion que pudiera atraer mi atención aunque eso sí, creo que nada sorpresivo porque todo fan de la serie esperaba que sucedería, más que nada con respecto al desarrollo del personaje de "Will", uno de los protagonistas principales de la serie.

After a long wait, the fifth and final season of Stranger Things has finally premiered. This time, the episodes have been divided into two volumes, leaving everything for the grand finale. In this post, I will first review the two volumes, which consist of a first batch of four episodes and a final batch of three. Personally, I wasn't very interested in the new and final season of this series, as I thought there was nothing more to tell and all that was left was to wait for the final confrontation between this group of friends and a powerful villain. To my surprise, there were a few events and revelations that caught my attention, although I don't think they were surprising because every fan of the series expected them to happen, especially with regard to the development of the character "Will," one of the main protagonists of the series.

Los cuatro primeros episodios estrenados en el pasado noviembre, me parecieron correctos y entretenidos, creo que se captó y mostró en breves escenas de humor lo que está serie captó en muchas personas tanto adultas como jóvenes y se que justamente esas escenas desconecta con el final de la anterior temporada, pero de igual manera los "Duffer Brothers" usan elementos narrativos para justificar esos breves momentos de felicidad y tranquilidad para después enfocarse en lo que será el principio de la batalla final; creo que la necesidad de dar relevancia a tantos personajes en esta quinta parte de la serie, es positivo, pero a la vez negativo y eso va a causa de que algunos personajes tienen una trama y desarrollo definido y otros no y es ahi donde existe un problema porque para no sentirse relegados se los proveyó mucho más protagonismo a quienes creo no lo necesitaban tanto y aunque eso me pareció bien (hasta cierto tiempo), hubo momentos en donde me parecio risorio que siempre alguno de ellos tenía la respuesta y un plan a realizar para cualquier problema que se presentará, posiblemente fue el tipo de escena más repetida en los siete primeros episodios.

Los tres episodios antes del final nos ofrecieron relevanciones que son considerados de importancia para la historia, una más que conocida por los fans y otra que en mi opinión es lo que impulsa aún más al enfrentamiento final; justamente esa última se terminan de confirmar en el episodio conocido como "The Bridge" y en mi opinión es la única y verdadera definición para el Volumen 2 el cual considero que es el más flojo de las dos tandas de episodios; estos episodios funcionaron como un puente para el final, pero uno con muchos fallos, uno es lo repetitivo de las escenas anteriormente citadas y lo otro es lo innecesario de su duración, creo que hay muchas cosas que pidieron tener un relato más directo y hacer más atractivo estos episodios que son un preámbulo al final, generando un mejor cliffhanger, es por eso que considero esta una parte de la historia final que se convierte en el peor villano que el mismo "Vecna".

The three episodes before the finale offered us revelations that are considered important to the story, one that is well known to fans and another that, in my opinion, further drives the final confrontation. That is why I consider this part of the final story to be the worst villain, even worse than "Vecna" himself.

It's no secret that the performances are not particularly positive, but I think the script isn't the best either, and that possibly limits the actors, who I don't consider to be outstanding or likely to have an impact on the entertainment industry. However, it's clear that now they are young adults, their dialogues don't have the same impact they had when they were children, and this may be what prompted the Duffer Brothers to introduce new characters, children, who were important in the two volumes. Me hubiera gustado que los episodios del volumen 2, tuvieran una corta duración, la cual seguramente hubera genrado un mejor impacto con respecto a las relevanciones; tqnbien considero que un mejor relato que en realidad se sintiera la amenaza del gran plan del villano, se pudiera observar la verdadera desesperación en los héroes siendo ese un gran motivo que les impulsará a la gran resolución y lamentó que eso no haya sucedido así, creo que estos episodios le restó lo correcto de los primeros cuatro aunque la decisión de hacer esperar para el estreno del final posiblemente haya hecho que algunos fans no se sintieran decepcionados, ya que seguramente esperarían ver un final al cual tengo expectativas y aunque espero que no sea completamente satisfactorio, si quiero que sea entretenido y divertido como lo fue el episodio cuatro el cual considero el mejor de lo que he visto en esta temporada. Hoy mismo veré el episodio final y mañana espero escribir la reseña definitiva sobre la gran e importante serie de Netflix.

I would have liked the episodes in volume 2 to be shorter, which would surely have had a greater impact in terms of relevance. I also think that a better storyline, one that really conveyed the threat of the villain's grand plan, would have allowed us to see the true desperation of the heroes, which would have been a great motivation for them to reach the grand resolution. I regret that this did not happen. I think these episodes detracted from the first four, although the decision to make fans wait for the premiere of the finale may have prevented some from feeling disappointed, as they were surely expecting to see an ending that I have high expectations for. Although I hope it will not be completely satisfying, I do want it to be entertaining and fun, like episode four, which I consider the best I have seen this season. Today I will watch the final episode, and tomorrow I hope to write the definitive review of this great and important Netflix series.
