What If Nightmare On Elm Street Was Disney-Fied
While Disney never ventured into this type of movie, that has not stopped fans from imagining that they did. Maybe the backstory for Freddy is just too dark for them, depending on what version you follow, he had a thing for kids. Not exactly a story Disney could turn into kid friendly content, unlike Mulan (thousands died), Little Mermaid (luring sailors to their deaths), or Beauty and the Beast (Belle had no problem staying with Beast in animal form). This is a slideshow covering the high points from the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie hauntingly well.
Make It Disney or Nothing
Disney has a unique art style that is often imitated but hardly ever duplicated correctly. It usually falls on the mannerisms and total frames of animation. Disney used to go all out on this stuff, before digital animation took over, now it is CGI “realistic” slop.
This being a slideshow video helps in keep this animated Nightmare on Elm Street as accessible as possible. Let the viewers use their imagination a bit.
Obviously Never Going to be a Full Release
While I would love to see this fleshed out to a full animated short, I doubt that will happen. Even with the quality of AI animation improving every day, I doubt anyone will take the time to complete a five to ten minute short.
I would love it if they did.
Could you imagine this art style in a ‘choose your own adventure’ game like the old Full Motion Video (FMV) games we got in the late 80’s/early 90s?
Again, probably not going to happen but a fan can dream, right? I mean, companies could print money if they were willing to, you know, think outside the box a bit.
What do you think of this animated Nightmare on Elm Street?
