The plot in this sense lacks solidity, that would be a detail of the script, however, you notice a Crowe who does not make an effort to project his character, so it can be said that it lacked more cohesion in its construction.

Elizabeth Banks is the same, her performance is gray and unconvincing as the woman who is a victim of circumstances and goes to prison without knowing why. From my point of view, this couple has no chemistry on screen, they did not achieve that emotional connection of a marriage that suddenly faces a big problem, hence this film is so deficient in the presentation of the story as it is a drama with hints of intrigue and suspense.

What is evident here is the criticism of the judicial system. Lara is convicted without hard evidence, which reflects ineptitude in the entire system, from the detectives, through the procedures and up to the judge. Faced with institutions that ruin innocent lives, the alternative is to rebel by applying drastic and irrational measures. From this perspective, the film poses the dilemma of double standards, where doing the right thing is contrary to the law.

The Next Three Days does not propose anything new, it seeks to justify actions by appealing to the thin line that divides desperation from morality. Crowe's fame practically drags down this proposal that is ambitious in terms of questioning the injustices in courts, but is so fragile in its notion of verisimilitude that it ends up submerged in the dark well where forgettable films rest.

Los próximos tres días no plantea algo novedoso, pretende justificar las acciones apelando a la delgada línea que divide la desesperación de la moralidad. La fama de Crowe prácticamente arrastra esta propuesta que es ambiciosa en lo que respecta a cuestionar las injusticias en tribunales, pero que resulta tan frágil en su noción de verosimilitud que termina sumergida en el pozo oscuro donde reposan las películas olvidables.
