🎬 2026 Movie Review #23 | Supergirl (2026) 🎥
Hua Hin Bluport Cinema
During my 2-month stay at Hua Hin Thailand, I went a total of 7 times to the Cinema over at Bluport Mall where they showed movies in English Language opposed to Market Village where everything was dubbed in Thai. The complex is as modern and good as western cinemas with the main difference that an entry ticket costs only 5-6€ which actually makes it easy and worth it opposed to the 16€ you pay in Belgium. The popcorn though at 5€+ for a medium is on the expensive side. The thing they had there which doesn't exist in Belgium is Cheese Popcorn which actually was quite good. So big thumbs up for Bluport Cinema which helped me enjoy my stay there.
Supergirl (6.6/10)
The setup for the story and the movie is pretty straightforward in what has been done 100 times already in these kinds of movies. The Sister of Superman is kind of drifting aimlessly in the universe and at some point gets attacked by raiders who poison her dog while she has a certain number of days to get the antidote which is on the necklace of the bad guy. In the meantime, there is a girl who's family got killed by the same bad guy who is seeking revenge and their paths meet during the movie.
There also is a 2nd bad guy who isn't really a bad guy played by Jason Mamoa and the journey of these characters where you know she will get the antivenom and save the dog at the end is pretty much the movie. Overall it was a more enjoyable ride compared to what I anticipated though and I can't remember rolling my eyes too many times if any.

Conclusion
This movie kind of worked for me as someone who isn't into superhero movies but could uses something no-brain to fill the day in my Thailand vacation getting that done while cooling down for just 5-6€ as an entry ticket in the cinema. At the same time, a month later I also almost forgot that I actually watched this one and I wouldn't do so in many other circumstances. So a 6.6/10 which I guess is better that the average scores this movie gets online.

i thought this movie kinda sucked. i only wanted to see more of Jason Momoa's Lobo..
Sister or cousin it's all the same for me :-) All I care about with these kinds of movies is that they give me a good time and given the circumstance it kind of did for me. But I agree though, it's not a great movie overall that I would recommend anyone.
