It is funny how some songs can be a big hit on TikTok but are hardly talked about in everyday conversations. But then again, any song that becomes a hit on TikTok usually turns into a general hit as well, because TikTok feels like about 80% of the world’s entertainment space right now.

Yeah, Allonsy by BabyDaiz is a big hit on TikTok, popularly known for its unique style of dance. It is not just a Nigerian thing; it is worldwide as far as TikTok challenges are concerned. I have seen a lot of foreigners (whites) dancing to the song, and it is so lovely to watch. I had seen this song suggested on YouTube many times, but I never paid attention to it until I came across a dance video done by a very beautiful, fine lady on Facebook Reels. The whole vibe made me fall in love with the song instantly.

I started wishing I were the very social type that owns a big TikTok account so I could join the challenge. But then again, even if I resurrect my TikTok account today, I would still battle with the boldness required to put my poor dancing skills online for the world to see. Lol 😂

This is one song that makes you want to give the video director a warm hug because it is an epic, movie-standard production. The song itself is good, well-crafted, and rich in lyrics, but it is the video that interests me the most because of the movie-like scenes loaded in it.

This is the first song I ever heard from Yung Alpha, and it is already a hit because of how popular it has become. Davido’s influence on the song is unmatched, and not just that—he did really well with his lyrics, and his verse was solid and impactful.

Marhaba by Kizz Daniel

When artists try a different style from what people are used to, they deserve to be applauded. Taking such risks is not easy, especially when expectations are already set.

This song, Marhaba, picked an Arabic style of music, and the most interesting thing about it is that the lyrics are catchy and funny if you pay close attention. It is only a lyrics video, yet it opened many people’s eyes, including mine, to how smooth and clever the lyrics are. Kizz Daniel is truly a gem when it comes to music.
