Excellent day to you all.

It is the season of celebrating mothers and I am joining #cinetvcontest to celebrate mothers all over the world and the contest prompt for this week is on favourite movie about mothers.

Of the movies that I have watched so far with plots bordering on motherhood, one that I really liked was the movie titled Maleficent 2 ; Mistress of evil

I loved Maleficent 1 a lot, especially when Maleficent herself lifted the curse from Aurora, proving her pure heart despite her cold and evil looking demeanor. She proved a point that Children are not only formed in the womb, children are also formed in the heart.

This means that you don't have to give birth to a child to love that child. Every mother's heart is filled with love for children.

** Movie Plot**

Maleficent, played by Angelina Jolie, was now Queen Aurora's guardian and the protector of the Moors. In order to make Aurora happy, Maleficent accompanied her to Prince Philip's kingdom for a celebration dinner for him and Aurora getting engaged.

Although Maleficent was against the union, she wanted to see Aurora happy and as such she did her best to control herself even when Queen ingrith Philip's mom was inciting her on purpose. Later she fell into the Queen's trap and was falsely accused of cursing King John, Philip's father, causing him to fall asleep.

While trying to escape, Maleficent was shot with an iron bullet which weakened her and she fell into the sea. She was rescued by mysterious winged people whom I guess were fairies too.

She found out that she was the last descendant of the Phoenix, a powerful dark fae fairy like herself. Unknown to Aurora, there was a dark plot to kill Al the Moor folj people by Queen Ingrith who secretly traps them and poisons them.

Maleficent and other fairies like herself go to Philip's Kingdom to save her people and there a battle ensues with Maleficent taking a bullet for Aurora. Aurora cries and her tears restore Maleficent back who was also reborn as a Phoenix.

Did I like and learn anything from the movie?

Yes. I liked the fact that good prevailed in the end and the one known as “evil mistress” was vindicated.

I also liked the bond between Aurora and Maleficent. The motherly love was top-notch and the fact that a mother would always want to see her children happy. I know I would always want my children to be happy.

This movie shows the attitudes of two mothers. One was hateful while the other loved unto death. Maleficent loved Aurora so much that she took a bullet for her. The love between them was true and pure.

While Philip's mom was there hating, Maleficent was evolving into something stronger and that is what love does. A mother's love grows stronger in protecting their children.

Most memorable scenes

The scenes that were most memorable to me was when Aurora's tears resurrected Maleficent, causing her to rise from her ashes and be reborn.

I also liked the part where Queen Ingrith was turned into a goat as punishment for her crimes. That was hilarious and befitting for a woman who refuses to act motherly.

I had nothing to dislike about the movie. I enjoyed the plot and the peace won at the end of the day between humans and fairies. Most of all I enjoyed the bond shared between Maleficent and Aurora. At a ppint, they had a conflict but it was resolved because they loved and trusted each other and Aurora calling Maleficent Mom was priceless.

You don't have to be a child's biological mom to love him or her with all your heart.

Both Maleficent 1 & 2 were fun to watch.

I rate this movie 8/10 stars. It was worth it.

Thanks for reading and viewing.

Motherly love cannot be compared with anything. Maleficent truly loved Aurora that was why she took the bullet for her. The movie is top notch. Thank you for reviewing.

A mother’s love will always grow stronger. It is not until one gives birth that they are called mothers, they come in different form as long as they could practice and show what a mother would do with love involved.
