Summer holidays

Are you in the summer flow already? I know we are, we just came back from a few nights in a hotel near our home. We have a few kittens to take care of so this was the best way to enjoy some days away, as well as being able to take care of them by checking in on them a few times during our stay. We could say, week one out of 12 is almost completed, just 11 more to go for us.

New movie and tv show releases will help us get through the weeks though, besides the English summer school, day trips, and crafting activities, a few hours tops a day can be spent behind the screen. It's nice to watch a few new things though, so I made a list of new releases on Netflix that the kids could check out this summer.

Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie

Let's start with Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie as my daughter has been watching the tv show for a while. At some point, I told her to stop watching it until she was 7 though because I didn't find it appropriate for her to watch some episodes. When she turned 7, she asked me if she could watch it again, and I let her watch it a few times. I know the age rating is a bit higher for some episodes but it seems this movie is rated for 8+, meaning I will probably watch it with her to find out if it's ok for her.

I personally see how kids can become fans of these characters as well as their outfits being favorite outfits for carnival and Halloween celebrations. Superheroes generally do well, I guess and if you feel this is a good show for your child, you can add it to your list from mid-July.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

I didn't know this movie was based on a bestselling book series until I found the Netflix release for the movie. It's quite cool to see Kevin Hart and Ed Helsm (two famous comedy actors) being part of this movie, which makes me want to check it out at least. The movie is a few years old but will be available on Netflix from July 10th.

The story is about two very imaginative pranksters who love to hypnotize people to make them think they're a superhero called Captain Underpants. I watched the trailer and will be checking it out with my daughter this month because the story is mostly about having fun.

The movie is not recommended for kids under 5 years of age, and supervision is recommended for ages 5-8.

Chupa

When browsing for new releases on Netflix for July, I bumped into this movie called Chupa, I watched the trailer and instantly knew I wanted to watch it with my daughter. While watching the trailer, it seems this one is already available from April on Netflix, so I'm not sure why it's been promoted as a July release. Either way, I haven't seen it yet and maybe some others have missed it too so I'm going to include it in this post because I feel it's a cool adventurous movie to watch as a family.

A teen called Alex visits his family in Mexico and discovers a young chupacabra in his granddad's shed. The chupacabra is a mythical creature and therefore he needs to hide it because some people with bad intentions are going to hunt the creature if they find out about its existence. They decide to call him Chupa.

The movie is suitable for all ages, but I recommend watching it together as a family.
