LOWEST-Rated Thrillers!
Hello Cine TV Community! It’s another amazing day, and we’ll be continuing our series of low-rated films across genres as promised in the last post. Now, we may be doing a series of the highest-rated films across genres, and whether or not the ratings are worth it. Today, we will visit the THRILLER genre to see what we can find. I don’t know how many thriller fans we have in the house, but let’s see if you can recognize these:
Fair Play (2023)
Starting off weak strong with 3.3 stars, is Fair Play. It is an erotic thriller that tells the story of Emily and Luke, who are analysts at a cutthroat hedge fund. They are secretly in a passionate relationship, which is against company policy. Soon enough, they get engaged, but when there’s a new takeover at management, and Emily gets promoted over Luke, things begin to get awry in the relationship, with Luke starting to believe that Emily isn’t representing his best interests. Soon, things reach a tipping point, but the only way out is down.
I thought, personally, that this film wasn’t too bad. It represented a lot of stereotypes, and it may have taken forever and a day to get to the climax, but 3.3 stars??
Locked In (2023)
With 2.3 stars, Locked In is a psychological thriller that tells the story of Katherine, a former TV star, who wakes up paralyzed in the hospital and down with a syndrome known as locked-in syndrome. Nicky, the nurse who is assigned to Katherine, picks up interest in how she got to that level, and asks Lina, Katherine’s daughter-in-law, to recount her story. In a thrilling tale that involves illness, a scheming family doctor, and a total misunderstanding, this film may leave you in a chokehold in the end.
I’d already gushed about how this film embodied what a psychological thriller is all about when I saw the low ratings. I guess I was wrong after all?
Intrusion (2021)
With an incredibly low rating of 2.4, this psychological thriller tells the story of Meera, a therapist, who moves out of Boston with her architect husband, Henry, to an ultra-modern house which Henry designed. On a particular evening, the couple returns to discover that their house has been broken into. Strange things began to happen from then on. Whether these intrusions are merely a break and enter or there is more to it than meets the eye is yet to be seen, until a curious Meera decides to dig a little deeper.
Not even going to lie, this was not it for me. Too many flaws in the storyline itself, but who am I to judge?
Okay, there you have it, everyone! What are your thoughts? Which of these have you seen, and do you think the majority of the audience may have made a bad call in their ratings? Let us know!

I often wonder how producers feel when they invest so much effort into a project, only for it to receive negative feedback, poor ratings, and bad reviews from the audience.
That said, some movies really are boring🤭, no doubt about that. But based on your review, these ones sound quite interesting. I haven't seen any of them yet.
Warm greetings to you!
