A Bit of Light
A Bit of Light is a beautiful movie with heartwarming characters. Of course, the lives of the characters are not without problems, but the way they overcome their problems, the way they treat each other, the dialogues they have, I really think the movie is worth seeing.
The dialogues between the two characters, one who behaves childishly even though he is older, and the other who behaves with a great deal of maturity even though he is still a child, were the most enjoyable moments of the film.
In those moments, I can't say that I didn't have doubts about whether age should be measured by numerical values or intelligence. Is the adult really an adult? Is a child really a child? Of course I am being ironic, but if you watch the movie I am sure you will understand what I am trying to say.
Trapped in a triangle between her children, her ex-husband and her father, Ella meets 13-year-old Neil at the playground. The spontaneous dialogues between the two were, in general, the hallmark moments of A Bit of Light.
Anna Paquin, who plays an alcoholic mother, successfully portrayed the role of Ella, a troubled and irresponsible mother. The most important reason why I found her successful was that she was convinced that she was harming her children with her problems and distanced herself from them.
Luca Hogan, who plays 13-year-old Neil, was the key and most successful character in the movie. While exhibiting behaviors that were much more mature than his age, he was able to teach others a lesson in every dialogue he had. It was a pleasure not only to watch but even to listen to his sentences.
The movie A Bit of Light manages to keep the audience on the screen in a very warm environment and sincere atmosphere with its story from within life. However, I feel it is my duty to make a small warning: the movie is not for everyone. Some of us may get sleepy, some of us may get bored early and turn it off, but it has scenes and dialogues that make small touches to the lives of everyone watching.
The theme of drama is perfectly handled throughout the movie. Even in the scenes where you smile, they managed to make you feel the drama aspect. I definitely liked the movie and I recommend you to watch it. I especially recommend you to watch the character of Neil more carefully. He was the most successful name of the production, which highlighted human relations, dialogues and behaviors.
