Finding the Truth When Moral Values Are Questioned and Dilemmas Abound - Carriers

I think the covid-19 pandemic has increased my and many other people's interest in movies with apocalyptic scenarios about viruses, diseases, pandemics and the related threats to life on earth. I tend to watch all movies with similar themes that were made before or after Covid.

The last of these was the 2009 movie Carriers. As in most movies with a similar theme, after the pandemic that threatens human life, everyone tries to find a safe place and live as long as possible.

In a scenario where countries, laws and all existing systems collapse, one of the most important rules of survival - "kill to live" - automatically comes into play. Moreover, in such contagious versions, the person you have to kill can sometimes be your nearest and dearest.

In moments where moral values are questioned and dilemmas abound, the difficulty of the decisions that have to be made is shown through the characters created, while the difficulty of coping with the consequences of the choices made makes the films more interesting.

Trying to cope with the difficulties of having to suddenly transition from a modern life to a primitive life and the difficulty of adapting to the conditions that arise spontaneously, watching, understanding and taking part in the created story adds to the pleasure of watching.

I can't say that I found the movie Carriers very successful, but it offered a slightly above average viewing pleasure in terms of watching what happens to a group of young people during their journey to find a safe place for themselves and taking part in the adventure.

The reason why I say slightly above average is because of the judgment I came to as a result of comparing it with all the movies I have seen with similar scenarios. If I evaluate the movie individually with its own story, I am sure I will be more positive in my judgment. It is a production with a good story, mediocre acting, and limited shooting locations.

Perhaps if you watch the movie with the theme of a road adventure instead of the theme of illness, you will enjoy it more. It could have been done better with the material at hand. I must admit that I expected more when I read the plot. Who knows, maybe because I had high expectations, I may have raised my appreciation level upwards. Maybe you will like it! I wish everyone who will watch it a good time!
