After watching the 1990 movie Goodfellas, if I were to summarize the movie in one sentence, I would say that it is a production that focuses on the passions of the young Henry Hill character.

Ray Liotta, who gives life to the character of Henry Hill, who adds value to the movie with both his narration and acting, does an excellent job. Of course, the contributions of a master like Robert De Niro, who plays Jimmy, are undeniable, but I think the character of Henry Hill is one step ahead in terms of the moves and decisions he makes at the right times.

Although the title of the movie makes it sound like a story of close friendships, in reality it is about hypocrisy. It reveals what the closest people can do for their own interests when things go wrong.

When I look at all the characters, a world is created that is free of crime and where everything is acceptable when done right. The phrase "crime-free" is, of course, an irony because for those who commit the crime, everything is acceptable as long as you don't get caught.

The concept of punishment comes into play when the crime you have committed is revealed, so if you are not caught, there is no crime and no punishment. Therefore, the concept of sin has never been formed or developed. This is not only true for the characters who come to the fore; it is also true for their spouses, siblings and even their children.

The character of Henry Hill, a young man with dreams and ideals, dictated the idea of making easy money to himself from the very beginning of his journey and he is on his way. The main storyline of the movie is centered on Hanry and tells the story of his beginning, rise and end.

The fact that the whole story is presented through Hanry's eyes in a simple narrative gives the feeling of reading a book, except for some scenes. Despite its long duration, the fact that it was far from boring and that every detail was covered was one of the important pluses of the movie.

At the end of the movie, which is based on real lives, we find ourselves in the middle of reality. After unexpected developments occur, the hypocrisy of those who live at the peak of friendship begins. From the first moments when things start to go wrong, personal interests come to the forefront among friends, and the confrontation with the truth begins. The reality I am talking about is the emergence of dishonesty, hypocrisy and hypocrisy among friends.

I recommend you to watch the movie if only to confront the truest realities of the world we live in. As you engage your mind with questions about crime and punishment, you will see how the concept of sin is neutralized. Titles and positions may change, but the results are still the same despite the long years that have passed. I wish everyone who will watch it a good time.
