CineTv Contest: My Favorite Documentary

Is Chef's Table my favorite documentary? I think it is! There are so many wonderful things about it. Here are a few reasons to watch it. First, the food is incredible! Chefs are generous and thoughtful people. They spend their lives serving other people and want to make them happy, too! But most of all, they're just like us! Chefs want to make you happy. Those two things are enough to make me a fan of the documentary.

Second, Chef's Table sets a high standard for the culinary docu-series. It paved the way for other great shows. Jiro Dreams of Sushi, which featured Martha Stewart dicing vegetables and pulling pies from the oven, was a definite step up from Chef's Table. Iron Chef and Chopped are no longer as good, but they still have great content. If you're looking for a new culinary documentary, this is the one to watch.

Third, Chef's Table is a great way to learn more about the food culture in our world. This series highlights one world-renowned chef and intertwines his story with his creation of famous dishes. It's also very diverse in subject matter, as one episode focuses on a pastry chef in New York who uses junk food as ingredients, and another episode covers a Buddhist nun in South Korea. You can really feel the passion and expertise in the show.

Chef's Table makes me feel happy. It's not a "MasterChef" show, and it's very different from the bland Tasty recipes you can find on social media. The documentary blends raw narratives with stunning landscapes to create an emotional bond between viewer and chef. And the food is a source of joy and happiness. I've found it similar to "The Joy of Painting" and "Planet Earth."

Last, Chef's Table is very well produced. The cameras are used very effectively, and each episode is shot with incredible detail. While this documentary does have its share of problems, it doesn't have the flaws of other cooking shows. Gelb also aims to create a food documentary of cinematic caliber and fincher-esque visual flair.

In addition to showing the power of a passion, Chef's Table teaches us to take risks. While we may be jealous of others who seem to have all the talent, we need to remain stubborn and never give up on something important to us. The chefs on Top Chef were no exception. They were fearless and persevered despite obstacles and failure, but the payoff was worth it. It's not always easy to follow your passion, but if you can keep your chin up, you'll have a long and fruitful life.

I was blown away by the way Lidia Cristoni was portrayed in Chef's Table. I can't say enough about her! This elderly Italian lady was a chance encounter for Massimo when he first opened his restaurant, and she evolved to become the grounding for all the dishes in his menu. She is a master of her craft. So many people are afraid to give up, and this documentary makes this clear.
