Thunderbolts 2025 Movie Review
Yesterday i went to the cinema to watch the new Marvel movie called Thunderbolts. As usual in order to have a better pictures about most of the characters and events you should have watched a lot of the previous movies. Ofc it's not like if you don't you won't understand what's going on but basically 9/10 characters have been part of other films.
Also note that if you read the comics, expect something different from usual. Now the movie was directed by Jake Schreier and of the main reasons i wanted to watch it is because i really like most of the actors. Thus, even since the movie was announced, i knew it would be at least a decent one.
Plot

The movie starts with Yelena having completed another mission but feeling a bit empty and trying to find a way to be happier. She visits her dad after a year who basically tells her that he was happy when he was helping people and was considered by everyone a hero.
She then calls Valentina, who is facing impeachment for what she does and who is trying to cover everything up and "burn" the evidence. She tells her that she will do one last mission and then she would like a public role where she would have a better profile. Valenina tells her ok and gives a last mission to basically hunt down a thief at a certain safehouse where all the evidence i mentioned are located.
Yelena goes there but to her surprise her target is Ava start or the ghost. There also lies John Walker and Antonia Dreykov who all start fighting each other. Another guy who doesn't seem to have fighting knowledge called Bob, hides while everyone else fights. Antonia seems to die and everyone is starting to realise that this is a set up from Valentina that wants to destroy all the evidence along with those who followed their orders.
They also realise that Bob is actually part of an experiment Valentina did, the project Sentry, where she tried/tries to create a let's say Super soldier far stronger than everyone else to protect earth and make her the next prime minister or something. There all the antiheroes form a team along with Alexei and try to stop the plans of Valentina and take her down in a sense.
What I Liked and What I Didn't
To begin with i like the antihero kind of movies or vigilante or stuff like this. The reason is that they seem closer to reality than the heroes. Also these guys don't actually have any A-rate super powers so once again it seems more realistic and closer to the audience.
Regarding the sceneries, everyone was amazing, especially some scenes where buildings got destroyed or when vehicles follow the same path. The cast is amazing, i really really like all of them and they also seem to enjoy their roles as well. David Harbour is one of the greatest actors of let's say the new era of actors, every role he does, he is spot on!
Also Lewis Pullman was quite good as the Sentry. Note that at first it was supposed to be Glen for Walking Dead but after some events Pullman got the role. I think he fits the role perfectly as simply looking at him he easily seems like a good person and psycho at the same!
The fight scenes were great, the way they highlighted the powers of Sentry and in general, how overpowered he is was great as well. The only thing i would say was mediocre was the plot in terms of you pretty much could expect everything! Overall, Marvel did some shitty movies these past months and years but this one is above decent. It's a 7.5/10 for me, go watch it!

I rarely watch movies like this. I get bored really easily. The plot you've narrated seems very nice though. Nice review. Thanks for sharing
thanks for stopping by!
It's part of the MCU so in general if you don't like these kind of comics/superheroes and such i would say better skip it! :P Based on that at the very best if you watch it you may think that it was just a decent movie :P
Thanks for your review! I am still on the fence about going to see this film in the theater.
Seems like marvel just came through with another one. I bet this is going to be a good one even though I haven't seen it yet. Looks like more members have been added to the crew which I find interesting
