Like they always say, there are movies and there are actually movies. There are some movies you watch that beyond the entertainment it offer, it gives you life lesson that stick with you forever. Growing up in Nigeria, for me personally, I have watched a lot of cartoon but there are some cartoon I have watched that stand out. I watch a cartoon movie The Lion king around 3-4 years ago and even till then, it made up some of my childhood and still.

I remember watching The Lion king even more than 10 years ago but there was one they brought back around 2019 which I rewatch and trust me, it leaves me a lot of lesson to ponder about. There have been been talks about this present edition of the Lion King in 2019 seems to be better than the Simba version and others have other opinions. For me, I believe both stand out and have their lessons they passed across and even the entertainment they offer.

Of course there was a change in the cast. In this present edition, Simba didn't act as Simba, it was Donald Glover that act as Simba and then James Jones acted as Mufasa but trust me, they really played a very great job in their role. If there is something I love so much about this present one, it is the music flow, it was still as magical as the Simba edition. They make use of hakuna matata. Watching the film once again makes me cherished and valued the beauty of nature.

The movie carries so much lesson. The fact that the young lion who was forced to leave the house due to the loss he experienced was able to conquer life makes me understand that no matter what happens, you can still overcome it. No matter what we face or limitations we face, we can actually overcome them if we are determined as the young lion in the movie. He found courage and become someone in the jungle that was well respected and valuable.

Not only that, sometimes we even need the limitations or challenges of life to push us to greatness. I remember when I was watching the movie, I was actually wondering whether he will have been able to achieve that which he achieve if he has not experienced that challenges he experienced at home that made him to leave the home. So many of the time, I and I belong I am not the only one but so many of us always run away from challenges, from fears, from pains that should have shaped us to become a better person.

Instead of us running away from our fears, we should face it and conquer it. Not only that, there is a need for us to have good friends. Take for example, without Mufasa who constantly reminds Simba the greatness ahead of him, probably he will have been tired along the way. The truth is, everyone of us needs a Mufasa in our lives whether big or small. For me personally, the movie taught me about how to overcome fears, taught me about courage, taught me about destiny and taught me that no matter what I faced in life, as far as one did not give up, one can still have a bright future ahead.

Though this Lion king might not really make you cry like the old one, but it will still teach you life lessons. I will recommend the movie to everyone. You should try to watch it with your friends, your loved ones, your families so that they can all learn together. The movie for me is beyond a cartoon, it is life opener. I finished watching that movie and I began to ask myself some questions like, Who am I supposed to be?.

Rating: 9/10

I will have given this movie 10/10 but if course, for now there is no movie that deserve the perfection but I really love it so much. I will leave it with 9/10 and I am so sure that it will be something that is great to see.

I enjoyed reading your review. You really told what the movie really was about and it's one of those movies that goes beyond just a cartoon. I liked how you connected the movie to real life lessons and I totally agree, sometimes its the challenge we go through that shape us into what we are meant to be, just like Simba. And yes, everyone definitely need a Mufasa in their life, someone to remind us of our purpose,. Thanks for sharing
