Before we had television listening to Afrikaans version of rugby was far more entertaining than in English (both official languages in the 70's). Broadcaster brought the game to life, swirled emotions through commentary, pride in both people and players over the early years. These people did influence much of who we are today.

The narration makes the audience feel connected to the sport being promoted. I wasn't a big soccer fan; I was always the goalkeeper when I played, but in every World Cup, I really liked Brazil or Argentina, and later I grew fond of my national team... I doubt those times will ever return, but we'll have the good memories... Thanks for your contribution. Best regards...

Great memories, with TV or cellphones today seeing everything leaves little to the imagination.
