CineTV Contest #60 - Favorite Arnold Schwartzenegger Movie: Commando.
In 1985, a film directed by Mark L. Lester was released in which Arnold Schwarzenegger is shown in all its splendor. The film is exaggerated, ultraviolent, excessive, and sometimes looks like a cartoon of those in which violence prevailed. The film was famous because 81 deaths were counted in it. Our sympathetic hero will do anything to save his daughter from dangerous kidnappers.

I'm talking about Commando, here he behaves like an alpha male, who wants to enjoy with his daughter (Alyssa Milano, who at the time was famous for being one of the protagonists of the series Who's the Boss), fishing and de-stressing by chopping firewood.

Also, he is a retired U.S. Special Forces colonel, his name John Matrix, His former colleagues are being killed, Matrix being next on the list. South American thugs who seek to overthrow the president of a non-existent country called Val Verde kill Matrix's military soldiers and kidnap his daughter to top it all off.
These thugs, which include the former leader he helps depose, force Matrix to help them overthrow the current government in exchange for the release of his daughter.
Like any self-respecting '80s hero, Matrix straps on his ammo belt, smears his face and arms with grease, and carries a small weapon: a rocket launcher.

In a chaotic beginning there are riddles with an Uzi machine gun, crashes against a car dealership, and the explosion of a fishing boat, all this leads to a significant number of victims, highlighting that these deaths are not the fault of the protagonist.

We see the death of anonymous henchmen dressed in camouflage with: saw blades, knives, machine guns and a rocket launcher, these are Matrix victims.

One of the villains of the film named Bennett has a big mustache and a psychopathic character who has a long-standing grudge against the Matrix. He does not die a very dignified death as he is impaled by a metal pipe against a steam valve that spews smoke from his twitching corpse.

One of Bennett's henchmen by the name of Sully is led to a cliff, and Matrix says to him, "Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last? Well, I lied." .

In this film, Arnold Schwarzenegger brings some drama, very little, to his relationship with his daughter, and he displays all his physical strengths without any remorse, and you can tell I enjoy this role. I don't see another actor in this role, in such an exaggerated, violent but entertaining movie. It is a palpable example of the invincible macho of the 80s.
