E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is one of the most beloved characters in world cinema, the genius of Steven Spielberg created a very well shot film, with good special effects, an excellent soundtrack by John Williams, and an indisputable technical quality.

It was 1982, and my cinematographic inclinations were directed towards films like Firts Blood, Rocky III, 48 Hours, Tron, Star Treek II, Poltergeist and even Tootsie. However, my mom almost dragged me to the movies to see E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. I found the movie entertaining, funny and with many sentimental moments.

As time went by I was able to delve deeper into this movie realizing that it deals with themes of inclusion, friendship, and the loneliness that children of divorced parents feel.

By a mistake E.T. The Extraterrestrial is abandoned on planet Earth, and is found by a boy named Elliott, who along with his brothers and friends protect him from the harassment of U.S. government agents who are looking for him to conduct experiments on him.

There is a part in this film that has always been very funny to me that occurs when this being from another, taking advantage of being alone at home, discovers the Coors beer inside the fridge. Elliot and the alien develop a very strong psychic bond and so when E.T. The Extraterrestrial succumbs to the alien, Elliot is the only one who is able to find it. The Extraterrestrial succumbs to the beer and achieves a state of drunkenness after drinking six cans, infecting an Elliott who suddenly becomes lighthearted and spontaneous, funny and seductive in just seconds, while at home E.T. crashes into the kitchen furniture before the astonished gaze of the house dog. While this is happening at home, at school Elliott decides to save some frogs from being dissected in the lab and everything turns into chaos.

In his drunken binge E.T. The Extraterrestrial is zapping television and comes across a movie in which a man kisses a woman, a situation that given the psychic link between the boy and the alien, Elliot repeats with a schoolmate that he likes very much.

This scene, in a way tells us that we have to drink with caution, but it is also a great cinematic wink as the movie that the Alien was watching is an American cult classic called The Quiet Man and the couple who were kissing were none other than Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne.

We see how beer can disinhibit a person, and in this case, even if the scenes were funny, we must take into account that the affected person is a child, that is, E.T. The Extraterrestrial does it unintentionally, and if we analyze the situation, the drunk is the alien, not Elliott, who does not suffer any bodily harm, without any psychological transmission of the sensation. The script of the film is very well written, and E.T. drinks beer out of curiosity and his incessant quest to explore and learn from humans, although I believe that another type of element or situation could have been used to explain this close relationship of friendship between E.T. and Elliott instead of this drink.

A curious fact is that the girl Elliott kisses is Erika Eleniak, who would later become well known for being part of the cast of the famous Baywatch series, being a model for Playboy magazine and acting alongside Steven Segal in the film Under Siege.

Personally, the indiscriminate consumption of beer, especially in college, has led me to perform somewhat questionable actions such as breaking an exam in front of the professor only 1 minute before starting the test or crying for hours the abandonment of the girl I liked.

I live in a very hot place, here in Venezuela in the city of Guarenas, so my wife and I drink a lot of liquids and some beer without falling into excess. Even today I must admit that a cold beer is able to calm thirst.

A big greeting to everyone in this community of movie lovers, this is my participation in the initiative CineTV Contest #61 Favorite Movie with Beer Link Here.

Best of luck to all the participants.

Amo esta película, la primera vez que la vi llore como una niña. cargada de emoción , acción y un cierto grado de suspenso, no hay otra que se le pueda comparar o por lo menos no la he visto.
