Movie Review: Last To Marry (2025)
Hello movie lovers 🤗
Today I'm so excited to share with you a Nollywood movie produced by Laju Iren. Laju Iren movies has been a blessing to so many people because it's always relatable and answers so many questions in many people's minds. When I was told by a friend that Laju Iren has released a movie recently and I was determined to make out time to see the movie. I'm so grateful I saw the movie and I'm so excited to share my review with you. I really have to share my thoughts about it because it was so enjoyable not just because I'm a single lady but because of the pressure I see ladies go through especially when they are in their marriageable age and their mates are married with kids but they aren't even in a relationship not to talk of a fiance. The societal stigma especially here in Nigeria is very bad, the pressure can come even from their family members especially mothers and can make a single lady depressed and desperate.
The movie "Last To Marry" was released by Laju Iren Movies on 14th February, 2025 (Valentine's day). The lead actor in the movie is Juliana Olayode who acted as Bidemi in the movie, other co-actors are Bayo Royale who acted as Amata, Ifeanyi Kalu who acted as Adetunji and many other actors. Their acting was great and second to none. This movie doesn't only have to do with the acting but the storyline is amazing
PLOT
The movie started with the scene of a game where single bachelors align in a queue with balloons in their hands and whenever a single lady enters, the bachelors are expected to pop up their balloons if they don't like the lady and kept their balloons if they like the lady. So Bidemi was the lady that came in and most of the men pop up their balloons even the ones with a healthy balloons popped it up immediately she said she was thirty and she's a career woman the scene ended with her having a very sad expression.
The storyline is about a single lady Bidemi in her thirties. Bidemi is a beautiful career woman but she is single without a fiance nor in any relationship and in her chaos, she clocked thirty. She had a boss in her office who she taught is interested in her due to her closeness with the man and her dedication to working with the man and pushing the organisation forward. She then decided to tell the man herself because he wasn't making any move of love towards her so unfortunately the day she wanted to walk up to him, he told her that he is planning his wedding with another lady in that same office. She was so shocked and disappointed, she felt betrayed but she had to wish them well and move on with her life.
After that scenario, the first man that came to her was Amata. He is a neighbour who rented a flat in the compound Bidemi lives in, he began to have interest in Bidemi the first day he saw her. Gradually, he started with friendship in order to get close to her and later told her that God told him to marry her that she's his wife. Amata is a good christian, tongue speaking, holy ghost filled (the qualities Bidemi wants in a man) but he has a very bad anger, whenever he is angry he talks to her anyhow and calls her different names so they were having issues most of the time.
The second man that came around Bidemi was Adetunji. Adetunji was Bidemi highschool senior, he had liked her from then although he is a muslim which is against Bidemi's religion. After looking for her for so many years, he is currently married when he finally met Bidemi again but he still loves her and wants to marry her as his second wife, however Adetunji is a very good man, kind, caring, wealthy and handsome but he is a devoted muslim who wants his children to be part of his religion too. Bidemi on the other side is so crazy about her Jesus, she is devoted to her fulfilling her purpose to reaching out and building girls in the way of the Lord so the had differences in their purpose, goal and ambitions.
She was now in the point where she has to choose between choosing either Amata or Adetunji, being confused on the choice to make, she went to her pastor to explain her confused state. Her Pastor (Laju Iren) explained and enlighten her on choosing herself and showing her that none of the men is God's will for her life due to the character deficiency and differences in religion so from that day she decided to focus on choosing herself, knowing God more and pursuing purpose till the will of God (her man) finally comes around.
RATINGS
I really enjoyed the way the casts especially the main actor, they really did a great job acting their roles perfectly. It showed me that every lady should always choose themselves, God and purpose no matter their marital status. I love the way Bidemi acted her part, it was so relatable. I will rate the movie 8 out of 10. I will recommend everyone to see these movies and learn life lessons from it.
