4 Years - Movie review

4 Years is a movie released in the year 2022. It was recommended for watching by my schoolmates who had studied at the Mar Athanasius College of Engineering - MACE and my son who studied there and graduated a year before.

Well, I had actually forgotten about it after reading the messages that were forwarded to me. Today, I remembered and asked my son where it was available and he said that it is on Amazon Prime. The movie is about two college students who break up their relationship before parting ways after graduation from MACE, the above-mentioned institution.
The college and all the places associated with it are shown in the movie.

Well, that's it. The movie is a complete flop. I mean, if you try to watch it, you will understand why I just skipped to the end after 15 minutes of viewing, just to see how it ended. Even the ending disappointed me.

Why is the movie a flop?

Even a school project would seem better than this movie if you exclude the technical perfections. The story just drags on and on. The actors do not have much to do other than just talk and relive their bad experiences. The way the movie has been directed is also too shabby. The actors try their best but the story is not brilliant and that is what made this movie a flop.
Had they shown past experiences and visualized the fun parts also, it would have been a nostalgic trip for those who have studied in this institution.

The only emotions that are shown here are anger, mood swings, despair, and a sense of hopelessness. So, yea I would certainly not recommend this movie.

The lead actors are Sarjano Khalid and Priya Varrier. Sankar Sharma has done the music and it is written and directed by Ranjith Sankar who is an alumnus of this college.

The students who studied and are presently studying also gave bad feedback on the movie. If only, the people behind the movie had studied more about how the college is at present than writing a story that does not fit the present scenario, it would have been a better production.

The college has reopened after two years of lockdown due to the pandemic and obviously, the students are just beginning to enjoy college life.

People just assume that students would be more bothered about having a love life while studying but it is not entirely true. Nowadays, students are more interested in not only studying but participating in extra activities that give them bonus points and also workshops. MACE is a prestigious institution from which students and alumni are known for their excellence and not many are below par because it is not a college that accepts pupils who are below par. Ranked among the first five engineering colleges in the state of Kerala, MACE is a name that stands apart from the rest.

Anyways, the movie has done nothing to even mention the students who make the college proud. So, there is that.

I hope I can get to watch a better movie just to forget this bad experience.

I understand how you feel about this movie, I haven't seen it but I can image, the whole scenario, I wonder what the motive of the movie making the movie was?, well I think the story writer should go more and developed himself so that he can produced better movie in future.
