It's almst perfect score! It's actually a very famous film even now. I think many Japanese people have seen it. I just couldn't believe it was released on 1988 and til now it's still one of the best classic animes out there.

Not just Japan, but the whole world at a time when Asian works were hardly seen in America. What this animated film achieved at the time is unparalleled. That's why, and because it's so well done, it continues to be talked about to this day.
