Gen Z that goes to film school probably won't have money or time to change their habits and appreciate classics. Letterboxed fans are mostly middle-aged Gen X and early Millenials nostalgics whose clout on US film industry is going to be very diminished.

Future of US cinema at this point looks very much like the present for stage theatre - a niche area that will be enjoyed and appreciated by diminishing number of true enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
