For me, one of the movies I like most of Tom Hanks, is The Post: The dark secrets of the Pentagon, in it we are presented with a real event that is generated in one of the most questioned presidencies of the United States, as was that of Richard Nixon.

Para mí, una de las películas que más me gusta de Tom Hanks, es The Post: los oscuros secretos del pentágono, en ella nos plantea un suceso real que se genera en una de las presidencias más cuestionadas de los Estados Unidos, como lo fue la de Richard Nixon.

In the film, we are shown the story of how a small media, led by a woman at the administrative level Katharine Graham, in the film, starring superbly by Meryl Streep and at the operational level, by the American press legend Ben Bradlee, starring Ton Hanks, get one of the most important journalistic stories of the 70s, and tells us how is the process of investigation and publication, while the newspaper itself is going through a series of changes, which will make it one of the most important media in the United States of America.

En la película, se nos muestra la historia de cómo un pequeño medio de comunicación, dirigido por una mujer a nivel administrativo Katharine Graham, en la película, protagonizada de manera soberbia por Meryl Streep y a nivel operativo, por la leyenda la prensa estadounidense Ben Bradlee, protagonizado por Ton Hanks, se consiguen con una de las historias periodísticas más importantes de la década de los 70, y nos narra como es ese proceso de investigación y publicación, mientras el periódico mismo está pasando por una serie de cambios, que lo convertirán en uno de los medios más importantes de los Estados Unidos de América.

The film also shows us, how two major media outlets, The New York Times and The Washington Post, which at the time were at odds in terms of competition for news, join forces to confront the Nixon administration in the Supreme Court of Justice of The United States, for the defense of freedom of the press, guaranteed in the first amendment of the constitution of that country.

La cinta nos muestra también, como dos grandes medios de comunicación, The New York Times y The Washington Post, que en su momento estaban enfrentados en cuanto a la competencia por las noticias, se unen para enfrentar al gobierno de Nixon en la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Los Estados Unidos, por la defensa de la libertad de prensa, garantizada en la primera enmienda de la constitución de ese país.

The film is framed in a scenography of the 70's, it becomes very interesting to see two scenes about journalistic work, the first, when a journalist is sent as an analyst to the Vietnam War, and it is seen, to said journalist participating in the actions with the military first hand, the other interesting part at the beginning of the tape is when Ton Hanks, sends an intern of the Washington Post newspaper to the headquarters of the New York Times, to see if he could find out what was the news they were planning to publish.

La película está enmarcada en una escenografía de los años 70, se hace muy interesante ver dos escenas sobre el trabajo periodístico, el primero, cuando se envía a un periodista como analista a la guerra de Vietnam, y se ve, a dicho periodista participando en las acciones con los militares de primera mano, la otra parte interesante al inicio dela cinta es cuando Ton Hanks, envía a un pasante del periódico Washington Post a la sede del New York Times, para ver si podía averiguar cuál era la noticia que pensaban publicar.

This scene shows that journalism at that time was practiced on the street, through direct contact, a situation that has changed quite a bit in the practice of journalism today.

Se ve en esa escena, que el ejercicio periodístico de esa época, se hacía en la calle, a través del contacto directo, situación que ha cambiado bastante en el ejercicio de la carrera en la actualidad.

Another interesting point is to see how the co-star Meryl Streep grows as the film progresses, from being an insecure, indecisive woman, to become a manager and a media owner in a world dominated by men.

Otro punto interesante es ver, como la coprotagonista Meryl Streep, va creciendo a nivel que transcurre la película, dejando de ser una mujer insegura, indecisa, para convertirse en una gerente y una dueña de medios en un mundo dominados por hombres.

It is a very interesting process, which has an implicit recognition in a particular scene, which is when Ben Bradlee, played by Ton Hanks, goes to the house of the owner of the media, and not only thanks her, but recognizes her effort and everything she is putting at risk, for the right and freedom of the press.

Es un proceso bien interesante, que tiene un reconocimiento implícito en una escena en particular, que es cuando Ben Bradlee, protagonizado por Ton Hanks, va a la casa de la dueña del medio, y no solamente le da las gracias, sino que reconoce su esfuerzo y todo lo que está poniendo en riesgo, por el derecho y la libertad de prensa.

Another interesting point of the film is the process of investigation and the making of the report, together with the legal situation that arises for the newspaper and its members, given that one of the news that will change the history of the United States of America, comes at a time when The Washington Post is no longer a family business, and is becoming a media of greater stature, as it begins to be listed on the stock exchange.

Otro punto interesante, de la película, es el proceso de investigación y de armado del reportaje, unido a la situación jurídica que se presenta para el periódico y si integrantes, dado que una de las noticias que cambiará la historia de los Estados Unidos de América, llega en un momento cuando el periódico The Washington Post, está dejando de ser una empresa familiar, y se está convirtiendo en un medio de mayor talla, al empezar a cotizar en la bolsa de valores.

In short, the film has a little bit of everything, suspense, investigation, hope, tension, emotion and intrigue. And each of these stages of the film, is very well acted and very well worked visually.

En fin, la película tiene de todo un poco, suspenso, investigación, esperanza, tensión, emotividad e intriga. Y cada una de estas etapas de la película, está muy bien actuada y muy bien trabajada visualmente.
