Hello and welcome to the 39TH edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. The Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun in a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community and showcase the work of deserving authors.

And it’s all simple. Every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style, and word count. It is not a contest, but just our way of creating exposure for the works we enjoyed throughout the week and boosting exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.

So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

Title: The Sadness

One of my best genres of movies is the horror type, and I’m very much fond of the zombie style because I get curious and imagine how the world is going to be if it eventually gets overrun by zombies. I came across this movie "The Sadness" via a mere recommendation on social media, and after I watched it, I kept wondering how a movie like this is not hyped. I remember making a post about it on my WhatsApp status, and I got a lot of people asking which movie it was.

Title: Troy

There is something about movies that are good that makes them very hard to forget. I do miss the days when movies about the older times were done, where people used swords and shields to fight battles. The training and the involvement of gods in the lives of mortals. I really wanted to watch something of action where guns are not used, but people fight with their hands, body, and sword, and win the fight with their intellect.

Title: Like Stars on Earth

What makes Like Stars on Earth so special is not just the storytelling but the message it passes across. Sometimes, it takes an unseemly person to come into your life and change everything completely. Nikumbh was not a strict teacher that came on board with a standard curriculum. He was entirely different from the other teachers and it was this difference that brought salvation to Ishaan. We all need someone who sees us and believes in us even when we’ve given up on ourselves.

Title: Vacation Friends

One faithful afternoon I was just casually scrolling through tik tok until I came across one funny post, it was so hilarious that I was interested to know the name of the movie. I went through the comments section to search for the name and found it “Vacation Friends.” To be sincere the name looked like the movie was going to be adventurous and hilarious. I went to Hulu Then I saw the poster — John Cena in a floral shirt, wide-eyed, next to Lil Rel Howery looking completely overwhelmed. I clicked play without thinking twice. I mean, how could I not?

Title: A Quirky Romance in "The Potato Lab"

potato.jpeg

It's definitely not the excitement I used to start this series that I ended it with, I had seen "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" sometime ago and totally loved the male lead character so I was one of those waiting for this series last episode to be aired before I start a binge-watch. It took a while before I decided to see it after the last episode. The poster, the title and the storyline, all were weird for me but I thought a little but of weird won't hurt all because I wanted to see a particular character play another role.

Title: Forever

Even before they started dating, it appeared that Keisha had a long standing crush on Justin because they knew each other when they were kids. But life separated them as they grew up. Keisha was going through so much in her life before she met Justin but as she tried dealing with things on her own( not to bother Justin), she still ended up dragging him into her messes, and they both ended up getting hurt most of the time.

Title: Sinners: A Mix Between Vampires and Slavery

sinners.png

Ryan Coogler is not the first time he works with Michael B. Jordan, he already did it in Creed and Black Panther. The main characteristic in all of them, including this film, is the exaltation of African-American culture, to give it a place in the cinema that it deserves and that this is not thanks to what people will say on social networks or simply looking to look good with everyone. Films like Sinners are successful because they are real and there is nothing imposed...

And there you have it! Congratulations to all those spotlighted this week. We look forward to more exceptional content. And to everyone posting in the community, we look forward to seeing more of you around.
